What's Everyone's Problem with Tobacco in Spliffs?

I'm in the US and people here roll spliffs all the time. Many people like cigarettes and marijuana. Why not combine them into one thing? If you don't like it, don't do it, but they are actually quite nice.
 
Putting more than a smidge of tobacco into a spliff usually turns me away, unless I'm piss drunk and can't feel a thing.

Simply 'cause I don't like to hold tobacco smoke in my lungs for more than a second or two, I think it feels and tastes repulsive. On the other hand I feel like I'm wasting the bud if I exhale it like a cigarette. Its a lose-lose situation imo.
 
Here in south louisiana, at least in my circles, a spliff is specifically a joint rolled with tobacco. Joint = just weed; spliff = weed + tobacco, irrespective of proportions. Not that that's what it IS or should be or whatever, that's just how we do.

Yeah, I guess thats the standard of language here on the west coast too... I just don't buy into it :D

Same thing in Massachusetts. I think the term spliff, meaning tobacco and weed rolled together, is a widely used and understood term.
 
I roll spliffs with tobacco because I usually have a cigarette after imbibing weed anyway.

IMO, if someone bitches about how you roll your spliffs, just tell them not to toke. It's your weed and you should be able to do what you wish with it. If they want to mooch off of you, they can either deal with the tobacco or refrain from partaking.

nicotine has a horrible stimulating effect which puts a bad edge on the cannabis high for me; jitters, uneasiness etc

plus tobacco causes cancer, cannabis [on its own] doesn't

tobacco + cannabis is one British custom i strongly dislike

i use a glass bong with a glass stem and glass cone peace i dont smoke spliffs.also i find head spins feel nice somtimes =D EVERYONE hear and i mean everyone smoke spin with there green

If you want to smoke your weed with tobacco, congratulations, go for it.
If you want to smoke your weed with...more weed....go for it, congratulations.

Whats up with all the name calling, who gives a shit why someone likes tobacco with weed and another doesn't , it's called personal preference.

I mean, its like asking, Why does someone prefer Patron over Hennessy.

People just like what they like, why question it, if someone is stupid enough to talk shit about the OP rolling his weed with tobacco and they've never tried it before, I would consider them ignorant and narrow minded for talking shit on something they've never tried, now, If they've smoked weed spun with tobacco and don't like it, its just preference.

Some people love the tasted of weed and the high...
Some people love smoking tobacco and hate weed.
Some people love them both

To each his own.

(Personally tobacco has too much of an upper effect on me, I smoke weed to calm down & sleep, tobacco just gets me shaky and leaves me with head aches, and on top of that, I'm not much a fan of the smell or taste either. Just personal pref.)

(And In Cali, west coast, Joint = weed. Spliff = Joint + Tobacco)

I would also go so far to say that the area you live in might have a HUGE impact on what your preference is , I would assume many people In California would prefer straight weed with no tobacco, and Im sure In other provinces you'll find people like weed with tobacco.

I put tobacco in my joints (spliffs) because 1) the smoke tastes better/is less harsh. 2) the high is better IME because you get the nice nicotene rush at the same time and 3) it spreads your weed out a bit, especially if theres a lot of people.

A lot of people see me putting tobacco in and are all "ewww tobacco how gross" I think thats pretty retarded, i mean smoke is smoke. I think they mostly are just judging the cigarette stigma, and if they actually tasted, and paid attention to the difference, they might not be so quick to dismiss it.

I find it's soo horrid just holding in tobac smoke .
But if you mix your weed with tobac it's necessary to do so as otherwise you'd just be wasting weed !
 
We have a common saying around here. "Here's your half quarter have fun rolling your spliffs!" basically the reason I'm against spliffs is because I always have enough weed to roll a joint/pack a bowl and i dont need to fill it with tobacco so i can roll such a small amount of weed. More weed = More baked.

idk. Not me at least. I smoke cigarettes. Around 1/2 pack a day, more or less. I still find holding in cigarette / tobacco smoke completely disgusting. As I like to hold in my reefer puffs for at least 7 - 8 seconds (but usually longer) to catch a proper high. When people roll spliffs, I usually blow it out after a second or two because I can't stand letting tobacco smoke sit in my lungs. It feels gross, smells gross, and gives me a dirty headrush that I don't enjoy much.

Just my opinion though, I have plenty of friends that love there mullers / bloopies / w/e you wanna call them (bongloads of tobacco + weed), so obviously we are all different.

I'm about to smoke my first cig right now. It has a tiny cut by the filter, but if it keeps me from smoking it, I'm going to roll a quick spliff.
