What'd you do to get off your butt today? v. "That's not real exercise!"

Two-ish mile walk with the big dog. Little dog's in need of rest and relaxation until I can get her in to the vet, poor thing. :(

did pushups and crunches this morning and then walked home carrying groceries (the walk is about 2.5 miles)

I've been trying to do the pushups/crunches and walk home from work every weekday in an effort to get more in shape. Even though I've been doing it for a month and a half I haven't felt much of an improvement. I think its just starting to get better, and I hope in a month more I can look back and go "hey, I have improved my health!"

4km hike today, which took me 2.15 hours. The weird thing about hiking is that most of the time I am all about running, and in actual fact I hardly ever walk anywhere. So the muscles used to walk are actually pretty weak, for me. So walking for a prolonged period of time today was harder than I am used to, with running. But it was awesome nonetheless :)

The latter part of the trail I took is called the "Giant Stairway". It is 900 steps, 400 metres vertical climb. It was absolutely brutal!!!! As I was approaching it I was like "Pffft, this will be a piece of cake, I'm pretty fit at the moment, let's do this!"
But it absolutely kicked my arse =D

I will be sore tomorrow ;)

^ I like stairs in nature. Saw the fb pics. Wicked!

4.2 mile train run with frequent stops for the dog. My 15 lb buddy is not meant for running. Tomorrow morning he stays home so I can push myself to run this trail continuously.

I miscalculated the trail length I posted previously. It was 3.6 miles not 2.8 so I feel pretty good about my progress in just a few attempts.

life changes...you WILL get through it <3
go do something sweaty and have a drink

Thanks girl. I did. :)

- 30 min. elliptical
- 30 min. bike,
- lifting a bit (finally 8o): 4x10 leg press, 4x10 leg extension, 4x10 leg curl, 3x10 ab curl (whatever it's officially called)

My fiancee, feeling sympathy for my sad state and proud of me still going to the gym, took me out afterwards for a really fresh, delicious dinner & a bottle of wine.

Those first 30 minutes exercising still sucked. I still felt shitty but NO SURPRISE I felt better after that and got over it. I'm so glad I have a supportive guy to get me going when I need it most. :) <3

::promise not to make this my own personal blog::

Amor, great job on getting in to the gym despite not feeling like it! I know what that's like, and it is harrrd to drag yourself there. But it's so worth it because you feel infinitely better afterwards :)

PI that is awesome about your trail running! I'm jealous! And I want to go with you :)

Mehm pardon my ignorance but what is ashtanga?? Sounds like something similar to yoga?

Good for you Amor. Today is a new day and I look forward to your wedding pics!

N3o I would like a running partner for motivation and safety. The dog is too slow and it is not his fault. Spindly chihuahua legs don't do that quick.

I was meeting someone this morning to run but she bailed which is fine as she is also slow...for now. I am headed to do the 4.2 trail after I have a cigarette. LOL.

Lol..I've never even noticed this forum. I did my normal ~3k walk with the dog and just got back from my normal 20km (550m climb) XC/AM route. I love to get out and move!
