^ You shouldn't do those things in combination with much anyway! What a distraction. hahaha.
Worked for seven hours after walking around and being lazy all weekend. Haven't felt very upbeat, but I'm coming around now, so time to get back on task in the morning.
i listen to lectures while running, sometimes on the treadmill i read printed academic articles.
it's only a pain if i want to mark something on the page.
as for music, forgetaboutit. music is great for a run. the chemical brothers live in chile 2004 (i think) runs for about 90 mins and is a great yardstick during half marathons (14kms). that and it really energises me hard.
I only listen to music when running on the treadmill. If I'm running outside I don't listen to music because I want to have my wits about me (for traffic, cyclists coming up behind me etc etc).
Oh also, I forgot to say what I did to get off my arse today!
Went for a 2 hour walk along the beach (Wollongong) with my younger brother and my doglet. My dog absolutely LOVES the beach and was in his element. And it also enabled some much-needed catch-up time with my bro
^fine, miss picky. that live set is a great benchmark for city to surf then, better nao ?
today just on the tready downstairs and did an easy 10kms in an hour. worked out my brain more than my body with philosophy of the mind, covering dualism, behaviouralism, identity theorists and functionalism.
"Should not be done in combination with MUCH." This is not to include working out. Of course, the headphones do get in the way anyway. It's just not for me, I suppose. I don't like not being able to hear when someone wants my attention.
Biked to and from work. Feeling back up to speed today, so I think I'm gonna go for a ride down to the falls and hike.
That's a total personal preference then. There's a big difference between saying it 'shouldn't' be done and 'I don't prefer it'. The headphone very very rarely get in the way for me but obviously I'm stationary with very little other distraction (the gym is nearly deserted in the summers).
^ It also depends on the type of headphones. Do you wear earbuds? I can't stand those things and much prefer "cans" for the sound quality and noise-canceling aspect--Those get in the way of exercising, lol. In a pinch I'll wear the ones that wrap around your ears, like these, but those too get in the way sometimes as they don't stay in place some of the times. Lol, anyways.
Today I biked to and from town, a total of six miles. Carried 15 pounds of groceries (yes, I weighed the backpack) on the return trip.
^ Ah yes. I wear earbuds. My cans would not work for exercise even if I preferred them due to the fact they're not set-up for all the sweat I accumulate.
That added weight is nothing to sneeze at! It's always way more difficult for me than it looks walking home from class with giant books and my laptop in my bag. Nice work.
I can't wear earplugs either. Try lifting weights with those things, Amor. I think you'll change your mind on the fact of whether it gets in the way or not. I don't fancy running on treadmills and on a stationary bike. I have to be moving around and when you do, the strings get hooked on fuckin' everything.
My fiancee lifts every day and doesn't have a problem with them. I also row from time to time and don't have an issue wearing them which I thought may be a problem. Maybe you just have the wrong ones. They also have wireless ones now though it's obviously not a priority for you so I'm just babbling.
