What'd you do to get off your butt today? v. "That's not real exercise!"

3 hour yoga practise followed by an impromptu 1 hour practise (practise teaching) followed by a restorative demo/savasana adjustment seminar.

Feels good man.

2 mile run & some physical therapy

Gonna be spectating @ my local marathon this Sunday. Should be a hoot.

^^ Hang on, are you hoping to do a marathon STH?? I can't recall you mentioning it before and I can't be bothered to trawl back through the thread :D

Today: Just took my dog for a 3km walk through my entire suburb. We just mosied around, exploring the backstreets that I've never even been to before. It's supurb Autumn weather today, cool and crisp <3 It was nice :)

11 mile bike ride. :D I think biking to work is definitely feasible--Just gotta time how long the route takes me before I attempt it at 7 in the morning. :P

ran the gorge... they opened the whole thing, so I ran to the top-- felt pretty good.

tomorrow is going to be a lazy day swimming/lounging in the sun (hopefully it doesn't rain).

Once I move, I've gotta get myself a geared road-bike. I've put on like 5 or 10 pounds eating my parent's food... I'm going to look like a sausage in my spandex :o

Changed, I would think with all those hills you'd be in awesome shape! But I guess not cooking for yourself could cause issues, lol.

PI, *gasp* no gym?! That's okay--It appears that you were moving quite quickly to have completed the most recent hike in that time! Normally a four to five mile hike for me is done in about 45 minutes.

I've been doing 5x5 for 4 weeks now. Going steady :D

Today I did:

Squat 5 x 5 x 97.5 kg
Bench Press 5 x 5 x 90 kg
Barbell Row 5 x 5 x 65 kg

I'm struggling with the bench press, been taking 2-3 minute rest between sets.. I love the technique that comes with the powerlifting moves, there is always something to improve. Hitting the 100 in two days :)

15 miles on my bike in an hour and fifteen minutes. Not only did I hit a new (without stopping) distance record but I hit a new time record and realized that biking to work is going to be a piece of cake. :D

Going to do the route again tomorrow and take a watch with me to see how long the first half of the route takes before I attempt it before work. :P

I meant I would be going hiking in 60 minutes.
It took 3 hours and 15 min which was better than the first time we hiked it (4.5 hours).
Elevation 3179 feet.
The gal I was with today is not as fit as I am.
I would have done it in 2 hours 45 min alone but I would rather have the company.

I don't think so. :) Not tough enough... I like racing the 5k distance. I have been on a couple 32km training runs a long time ago and the marathon seems too daunting.

Today I did 5 sets of 20 pushups, and a couple sets of pullups. Perhaps some PT later

Did about 8 miles on my road bike, with no brakes whatsoever-- used my foot on the back tire when I needed to stop. Road to the waterfall, looked kind of sketchy, so I didn't jump. Rode back, drove to the lake, and swam for an hour.

I guess I'm not in bad shape, but I look like I am. 175# when I should be 160.

PI, you should've just let us think that you're that athletic. :P

Changed, 175 isn't that bad. Who isn't a little over their ideal body weight? 8) Don't know if you (or anyone reading this) are aware of what your "ideal body weight" is, but they're asinine:

For women, start at 100 pounds and add five pounds for every inch over five foot (or subtract two point five pounds for every inch under five foot). That's your ideal body weight. So, a woman who is 5'4 should weigh 120 pounds. 8(

For men, start at 106 pounds and add six pounds for every inch over five foot. That's your ideal body weight. So, a man who is 5'9 should weigh 160. 8(

A professor of mine, who's an RD, swears by this method and it's what the ADA (American Dietetics Association) goes by.

By their method of assessing risk, I'm about 118% of my ideal body weight. (To find percent ideal, take your weight and divide it by your ideal.) 100 +/- 10% is "healthy." +10-19% is overweight. +20% is obese. Then from there I think it's 200% is morbid obesity.

Oy. Wasn't that the mood lifter?

Back on thread, I went for a short walk with the dogs--They tire quickly in the heat. I'm tempted to go for another bike ride but I don't want to over do it.

so I'm basically my ideal weight... I need to do something to increase definition though.

ate pineapple greek yogurt, and going to have salmon for dinner

Urgh. By that method, I'm obese. Wtf. I don't look obese at all. Sure, I could stand to lose ~ 30 pounds, but losing 40 would make me look sickly thin.

That was a horrible mood killer. I'm gonna go exercise now. :P

And to contrast, my set point is 10-15lbs under what it 'should' be. Everyone is different, health can't be drawn IMO.
