Merrydown is an excellent cider, yes its strong 7.5% but tastes great, 'tramp' cider is shit like Frosty Jack and other cat piss white cider in my book. Obviously I have no defence for the Tennants Super, must be the bit of charver in me...
I was feeling a bit ropey and restless mainly due to the fact I've been pissed every day for the past 4 days so I decided I'd sort it out by getting a bottle of wine in. I'm off the booze for one week as of tomorrow.
Went to the shop for gin. Bottle of gordons (I'm not a gin snob, I just stick to Gordons, I like it), two lemons and two bottles of tonic.
The woman in front of me at the checkout has picked up a ready meal that's past its best before date, she is disgusted. While I wait I notice the Gordon's has something attached to the neck. A wee bottle of Bottle Green Elderflower Cordial. I like the stuff anyway, and now it is telling me I should pour into gin.
So I do. Gin, Elderflower, tonic, lemon, cucumber (it told me to) and ice. Fucking delicious and refreshing :D
I've always though gin & tonic was OK but tasted not great (unless sloe gin and tonic which is amazing) but it turns out it's just the gin I've tried was shit as had a Gordon and tonic the other day and it was well nice. Might go raid the cupboard now and have one actually.
It was Bombay and Beefeater gins I'd had before and thought they were OK but not great. I shouldn't be drinking tonight but I really fancy one now you've posted about it. Bastard!
