Whatcha Drinking? v. Drunk Driver: "Don't make me stupid"

Drinking: Irn Bru

As a very poor student i went on a noodle diet once where i ate nothing but noodles for 2 weeks. I lost a fuck load of weight and was very ill by the end of it.

Was not a diet through choice - i'd spent all my student loan money on cocaine and was left with something silly like ₤2.70 for 2 weeks shopping.

not recommended but probably still better than consuming just lemonade or cayenne pepper.

Westons, 4 bottles :p

Spade you were slaying they've had to stop the drinks promos in Scotland, so Westons at your Co is now 1.50 a bottle instead of 2 for 3 quid.

That's better than we get here. I can buy 3 bottles for 4.50 in Scotland (with no promotions to encourage responsible drinking), but 3 bottles would cost me 4.80 here. I know its fuck all difference, but in this case the banning of promotions has made booze cheaper. :)

it's also a more responsible approach in a sense, in that it doesn't make you have to buy 2. capitalism at it's worst makes you have to buy more than you want or need, because it makes 'volume' cheaper .... hence why we throw a fuckton of food away every week, and buy more than we need: the mentality of wanting less, which is usually more expensive than the buying more option, just doesn't sit right when you come to make a choice about what's cheapest. nor is it really 'fair'. it's certainly not economical and openly encourages waste

I'd much rather have the option of buying one at the fairer price than be 'forced' into buying 2 (of anything obv ... but as a separate issue, buying 1 of 'booze' anything is a test of wills, but whatever ;p)

^I agrreeMarmz, I've lost count of the times I've been forced intop buying morewestons thabn i need and binning it at the end of the week

I do hear you with the "forced" stuff, it is a real pressure, and I hate to brag but sometimes (OK once) I'll buy just one even though there's a three-for-price-of-two offer ;) you even have to fight the checkout ladies tho.

I probably wouldn't leave a 'free' item but a lot of the time when it's 2 for not much more than one would cost I'll still just take 1 if I know I don't need 2 or won't use it. Wouldn't do it with booze like but other things.

Got some relatively interesting booze in tonight. I've never seen 'em before anyway...

Had the Root Brew earlier and was pretty tasty. Very similar to Crabbie's really only slightly less sweet. I think. May be mistaken. Liked it more than the last Crabbie's I had though.

Currently drinking the Sour Mash Brew which basically tastes like a pretty weak JD & lemonade. Tasty enough though.

Shame they're only 4% but both make for a tasty cold beverage on a warm eve :)

Dunno what the jamjar biznizz is though - they have branded jamjars you're meant to drink out of 8)

i saw nekointheclouds on webcam the other night, I laughed at her cos she was drinking from a jamjar.

I presumed some sort of peevee psychosis ;) , but its prob just a hipster US thang.

Am now drinking...

First time I've tried this one and am pleasantly surprised. Not generally a fan of scrumpy cider but this one actually tastes rather good rather than like swigging cider vinegar cut with diesel and roadkill. Just enough sweetness to make it palatable but not sickly either. Not bad stuff at all. 7.3% and £5.50 for two litres wouldn't normally be such a great deal but demijohns are pricey as it is so the fact it came pre-filled with decent cider is but a bonus. Collect a few of these and I may even be roused to start brewing the odd bottle of wine again. Yum <3

You're right, my sister's late husband was a US hipster (and a very decent bloke, artist and musician) and he taught me to drink wine from a jam jar! I taught him to put more fucking wine in the jar.

You aren't a real man until you've drunk from a lego container of some description.
