EDIT: TBF, I all their albums up until that first 90s one with Regret on it - bit iffy by their standards but probably the last album of theirs I’d still listen to tbh.

New Order’s influence on UK rave/dance/electronic scene has been grossly underrated imo.

They were one of the earliest UK acts that went to Ibiza, did a shitload of eckies, came back, changed UK music and culture forever.

Funny you should bring up T2 - was watching a documentary about that and the original Trainspotting just yesterday…

Danny Thompson of Pentangle recently passed at the age of 86.
He was a big reason I got into double bass in my teens.
Pentangle as a whole kind of fascinated me. It took me a while to realize that a large majority of their music is somewhat lyrically open sourced in that it's all inspired by a collection of medieval folk poems, some as old as the 14th century.
I wonder now if he's on the other side playing with Bert Jansch, guitarist and singer in this.
Their music is very calming to me.

Well pretty much all of it. The melody reminded me of at the bottom of everything by bright eyes.

I hoped you wouldn't understand it, you would be shocked how many people who live in the UK have an issue.
I guess those family roots are showing up if you follow that song.
