Blackstreet - Don't Leave Me
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=d18wkZgthMk

And on the tail end of the New Jack Swing movement, we have Blackstreet.
Uses the same sample used for I Ain't Mad At Cha by 2Pac. It's your run of the mill mid 90s R&B before the whole genre became intolerable, but still extremely listenable due to Teddy Riley's production (Michael Jackson's Dangerous album, every Guy album, basically Pharrell's mentor).

Skillz - The Wire: 5 Seasons in 5 Minutes
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=ZExR3mpv6_k

Mad Skillz, the ghostwriter of a ridiculous amount of hit singles from the Bad Boy camp in the 90s/early 00s and others sums up each season of The Wire in 1 minute.

If you haven't watched the show, don't bother.
If you have, it's essential.

Hatebreed - Doomsayer

One day this will be the intro for a movie. I don't even care if it's a Disney musical, it's just so cinematic in it's buildup.

The type of music that makes you hunch your shoulders, bend your neck and raise your gaze.

^ I love Girl Talk also UAN, I always try to figure out what songs he has chopped and changed...

You might like DJ Scene

http://dj-scene.com/main.html

There are 2 free mixtapes of 80's songs mashed up. It similar to GT and pretty good really :)

^ Yeah picking the songs is my favourite at work game.

Handsome Furs - I'm Confused

I get really shitty at myself because I make these VERY DEFINITE DECISIONS and then for no apparent reason someone I had nearly forgetten tells me I need to listen to a song. I hate this guy. He does this every time I make some sort of semi-decision.

Anyway, so Handsome Furs are pretty fun. First time I've heard it but yeah... Wolf Parade fans give it a whirl.

City & Colour - Sleeping Sickness

I guess I'm on the short bus, because I had no idea this was one of the vocalists from Alexisonfire.

Must be something about hardcore/post-hardcore bands having singers do acoustic side projects. Dustin Kensrue from Thrice (self-titled), Chris Carrabba from Further Seems Forever (Dashboard Confessional), Chuck Ragan from Hot Water Music (self-titled), etc etc.

Plus the song has handclaps.

Andrew Bird - Noble Beast

This is an interesting album. It certainly doesn't contain any of the exalted or ascending songs that Armchair Apocrypha had. It's slightly aloof and more maudlin but I'm positive it has yet to grow on me. I've only listened to it twice since obtaining it.

Reading reviews across the web on it, the reviews are very divisive. Some say great, others say worst yet.

It's the same sorta instruments (whistling, violin, plucked acoustic) but more slower, less high-reaching songs. Decide for yourself. I still am.

Placebo - Every Me Every You

Cruel Intentions is ten years old this year?
Get the fuck out of here.

Listening to Dirty Leaves by The Bronx.

I fucking love this so much. The lyrics are awesomely poetic and strike a chord with me. But it needs to be heard with Matt's gravelly vocals for it to make as much sense. Still fucking killer! Listened to this album so many times and it still blows me away. Pity I can't scream along because I'm getting over a cold and my voice still doesn't work.

I never wanted to admit to this but my love wasn't true
I rescue the lonely because I'm lonely too
And the way you smile, the way you laugh
reminds me of myself
Before i fell apart like a drug infected heart
All along in a city by the sea
Dirty leaves fall around
All alone and suddenly it seems
