Hah, cheers. And you probably could have spotted me doing it if you'd been walking down the appropriate road a few hours ago. I think I entertained some people at the bus stop opposite anyway.I'm going to ignore the admittedly-poor innuendo potential of 'hoop session', and reflect on the fact it makes me that little bit happier that I live in a world where chicks do hula hoop stuff to a JAMC soundtrack. This is most certainly a Good Thing.![]()

Loved Syro - not breaking any new ground, but it's the album of the year so far. It could be a Drukqs II, for all the development in style that's gone on in the interim, but I'm not complaining. Having said that, I reckon it's got a lot more funk to it than Drukqs.
Oh and I don't think anyone seriously doubts the tuss=the twin. I thought it was beyond question.

Aphex Bleedin' Twin? Come on. It's all just fuckin' disco.![]()

It's all just fuckin' disco.
)Hah, sure. Will make sure it's on fire first though.Oh yeah i forgot about that. are you still up for coming along, bring the poi spinning stuff, smack him around with it perhaps

Nah it's not - Disco sucks, and the 'rediscovery' of it in recent years has done nothing but reinforce my mulleted hillbilly views on the matter.
I go by the theory that there are two (sometimes intersecting) but very distinct parallel lines in the development of dance music. They both grew out of New York in the mid - late 70's. On the one hand you've got the elitist, effete, Studio 54 route, which taken to its logical conclusion leads to abominations such as Prog House/minimal Techno etc..

Nah I know, I'll suggest something again at some point, maybe.

This is all BS, by the way, but I can't help seeing things this way (behold the mental gymnastics behind the rationalisation of my dislike for disco)
Hah, sure. Will make sure it's on fire first though.
Um.. I should probably post some music.
Underworld - Two Months Off
As for your BS theory, the reductionist (and realistic) summary is summat like: gay black men make music to fuck to on speed. The music gets popular outside said circle. Develops. The end.
