My ex heard this for the first time and thought it was just 'bullshit machismo'.

I had to play it back a second time before she latched on to the fact that it's an ode to cruising, and that's why 'Romeo' is completely untroubled by the fact that there's 'no Juliet'.

How the fuck can she not have noticed? :?

The way he intones "roam, Romeo" is a deader giveaway than I've ever heard. Though US college radio seemingly failed to clock on too.

I recall chatter of drugged up performances. One of the best! The Who whined they were spiked at woodstock. This bunch went full Hunter S. and purposefully loaded up with mescaline (IIRC; and were prolly spiked like others). What a performance :)

Wouldn't really class as acid so somewhat disconnected from my above... there is a certain lushiness which tends to fail most other musicforms which this captures - and in fine style more than once - which remains lushy all the same.
