Now there's a band I'd forgotten.. Very good indeed.

Continuing the 'Oirish' theme - I had some friends from Howth near Dublin and their Grandad would go missing for days on end, only to turn up later saying "to be shure, oi've jus been taken boi the leprechauns so oi have, can't remember a ting!". Strange that no fucker believed him... :)
:Dlol

FG, I still can't suss out your connection with the Roses et al, but the Seahorses' 'Do it yourself' is one of my all time favourite albums... As for the Roses, I always preferred The Charlatans - their 'Some Friendly' album was far superior to 'The Stone Roses' IMO..

i always preferred the happy Mondays apart form my tag :) i know them because of john squire being related to the owner of the farm i live on and i wont bother with the o but squires was on tour no his uncle was work that out lol john was here trying to kick drugs and he really was

plus with the seahorse i know fletcher and helmes have nearly my whole life meet andy watts brother the guy who played on the original version on the album the called him chris as well forgot i met alan ren ,gary and chris mounfield garys brother and not to forget ian brown thats where the boy in the picture comes from :) https://youtu.be/GAdAxVWAaWA The Seahorses - The Boy In The Picture from the photo squire took we are all stood outside the front door in the picture i was only 12 at the time just turned it the month before

The Mondays are touring for the 25th anniversary of Pills thrills and bellyaches, very tempted but last time I saw Shaun Ryder (Black Grape days) he really wasn't up to it IMO.

Plus the best venue on the planet Nottingham Rock City had the brilliant idea of making the smoking area the foyer of the entrance, so no spliffage. I saw Monster Magnet there in Feb and not being able to smoke a spliff whilst watching the band took away from the night.

That pretty sums up why I don't bother with indoor gigs and pubs anymore - no spliffs.

I saw Black Grape in 1995 at the Oasis gig at Loch Lomond and want that impressed tbh. In fact, I thought the Manic Street Preachers blew everyone away that day...

TBH mate, they came on stage early, just as we walked in and I wasn't sure if it was the opening act. I hadn't seen a pic of Dave Wyndorff since the Dopes to infinity tour. He's put a bit of weight on...=D
