We's so damnably close on these matters it pains me <3

Psychic TV (and related bands) did the Acid House (and related matters) before even Swans picked up a distortion pedal. I don't see it as a competetion so much as a battle on many fronts. Some choose to go the "purist" route and they are doomed to become stuck in the past - auld fucks whinging on about how things are never as good as they imagined they once were in a drunken haze of self-infulgent moroseness.

The only conflict I feel with you in musical terms is that I like more or less everything you post here (fekkin folky shite aside as that really does get on my tits - if I hear one more mournful whistle or twee fiddle I may stab a cunt with stabby things of... just summat else cos there really is such a thing as thrashing the arse out of it as you note above ;)). Just seems to me that some folk in the "purist" camp have damnably fine taste yet refuse to listen to anything that approaches a beat because they mostly appear to be terrified of being incapable of not shaking their funkay thing and thus apparently losing all "purist credibility"...

Not intended as combatativeness but the "'s'all disco innit" stuff does wear thin when you often post much the same stuff....
