Were you raised in amongst country music also?

I was and this made me love Garth Brooks as a child haha. I went to two concerts and he even shook my hand and tipped my hat :D

It has led me to get into country music I do like, such as Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, George Jones and a few more. Country gets such a bad rep because so much of it is shite, and most modern country music has changed so much. It's more like 80s rock music with a southern drawl. Garth Brooks basically killed country music :\

Also, I have to say F.U.B.A.R - this Steeleye Span album has continued to play and it's right up my street. Never heard of them before but I think I shall explore a bit more :)

Glad you like it Don. I'd not heard it for about 20 years before tonight, so it was pretty nostalgic.

But I've returned to the master now - Neil Young :)

You didn't mention Hank. Or does Hank stand alone as the King of Misery?

I dunno why I didn't mention him. I'm very familiar with his songs but usually other people singing them. I love me a bit of Webb Pierce , too.

I think I was just trying to be cool by mentioning some bad asses of country. Although, Hank was as bad ass in his antics as the rest of them were. Got fired from the Orpy and all! There's a song about him by Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams Jr called 'The Conversation'. It's alright but the video's a bit shit.

You like any Jimmy Rodgers or do you stay away from train songs? :p

Always liked this as one as I think it sounds just a wee bit more psychedelic than the folky Neil Young I'd normally listen to.

i had to get my slayer fix for the day :)

this was ground breaking back in 92 when it was 1000% hate before the lables made them change the title and re release it in 94 but still it's heavy as fuck

It may be shameful but the only Slayer song I'd be able to identify, if heard, is 'Bloodline'.

I used to like a bit of Metal as a teen and still do like some when I hear it. My mate showed me Meshuggah a few weeks ago and I missed my long hair so much because it was such a head banging tune.

My ears have become soft and cautious as I've got older. The bubbles from fizzy drinks burn my tongue now, too :\

I couldn't count how many times I've said, ''Fuck, I didn't know Johnny recorded that!''.

He did some amount of covers, mang. Top quality, too!
