Lager and Cider ( usually in equal quantities) with a dash of Blackcurrant cordial. Only mine is Cherries and Berries today. Goes down far too quickly though ! Too scrummy.
 
Lager + cider was always called a snakebite, I thought. Maybe just an English thing but that's always what it was called wherever I've lived. Blackcurrant or similar is definitely a requirement though. My recipe for snakebite back in my college days was Special Brew + White Lightning. Diesel would possibly be a more appropriate name cos it most definitely got you fired up. But snakebite it is cos you are also most definitely poisoned after drinking a couple :D

Snakebites don't have blackcurrant in them.

So, technically I'm not having a diesel, I'm having a snakebite with diluting juice.

I think it varies so damn much. A black and tan in the states is Harp and Guinness and a Black Velvet was Guinness and Cider but I hear that a Black Velvet here is guinness and Champers.

Black Velvet = Guinness + Champagne. Harp + Guinness = fuck knows but sounds nasty. Bitter + Guinness = black & tan or Mickey Mouse depending where you live. At least it does ime etc. Worked in a pub in Oxfordshire and the bitter + Guinness thing was always called a Mickey Mouse but have heard it called black and tan elsewhere. Sounds nasty to me but never tried it. Guinness + Tia Maria = dunno but tastes gorgeous :)
 
Had an epic night of drinking friday. Started out with 6 litres strongbow cider between 2 of us pre town seshing. Then hit 2 pubs, 2 double vodka redbulls each in 2 diff pubs, both flat out necked then off to the Cake for clubbing, more double vod redbulls, cider, couple morgans, havana, port... was absolutely shitfaced drunk along side heroic doses of 2c's and plenty top notch MDMA. Best head on and most cunted i've been in a whiiiile :D

Tonight will be going for the GBL and a few tuborgs. alcohol <3

But hey-ho. Finished fingering the bishop and just started on the red. Tis called St Hallett Barossa Shiraz. I think. Writing's overly caligraphic and kinda hard to read. Bloody lovely for a shiraz though. Sometimes find them a bit harsh but this one is fruity as fuck. Yum :)
 
Mickey mouse's were lager and bitter where I was from...lol...at the time, late teens, i thought all these were nationwide drinks....loads of variation....

I was probably not that far from you if you were in the Midlands and I know some folks from out of town looked at me like I was a loon when I poured them a bitter and Guinness concoction instead of lager and Guinness. Who knows? The definition of a Mickey Mouse I was familiar with may have been limited entirely to the town I lived in. Always thought it was a Mickey Mouse drink anyway so never tried it myself.
 
I never drank Mickey Mouse's. That was what the casuals drank.

We drank snakebites.

Charlie Perm = Mickey Mouse. Long greasy hair = Snakebite

Felix made me give up a err a "sip" of champagne to make this cocktail, was fucking rank :| damn waste of champagne Dom Pérignon at that too :\

Funny how a bottle of wine is supposed to give up 5 glasses but I can only fill 3 8) In good wifely revenge I've hit his "not to his liking" cultural seasonal gift beers....so in addition supping "Cornishman IPA"...it's pretty rank too :\

I never touched cornishman himself so will not tolerate any reference untoward as such :p

Black Velvet here is Guinness and Cider aye. If you're in a cheap mining town like I was.

I learnt this when working in a dodgy pub back home. The man looked at me like I was stupid when I didn't know what he meant, he had to tell me. Fucking horrid and it's a pain in the arse to pour if you don't flatten the cider a bit, unless you're a great busty barmaid like me ;)

I've just finished a coffee, but I could do with a bevvy, or a few :(
