Marquis de Saint-Pey 2009

Tesco, £6.99 I think. This is a St. Émilion, a favourite terroir of this quaffer.

Slight whiff of petrol. Good acidity, softening to raspberries and vanilla. The characteristic mineral note of this region is present but with atypical harmonics, very pleasant! Very good value.

No boozing tonight, but found the deal of the century.

Discount booze floggers Lidl have something called " Maxwell 28 yr old Highland single malt" at £30 a bottle 8o ( Get the mirror voucher and its only 25 quid)

A little research shows this to be Brora single malt, and the Brora 28 yr olds go for like £200-300 a bottle at The Whiskey Exchange ( albiet at a higher ABV)...

A £300 Bottle of SMS for £30? not too shabby.

been getting great reviews everywhere on single malt forums, limited to 3600 bottles though.( went to look for one today, and grabbed the last one)

lambardi dark rum and coca cola, i could live off rum and coke..well i mean i could live off that and sally brown....which is missing from my life right now

There's nothing crap about Remy XO IMO.

Each to ones own, but what I meant was Hine make bottles that taste better than Hennessey's ( and most other producers) XO bottles.in fact thier vsop is better than most XO !
The big 4 certainly make some decent stuff, but its not great value for money, and they do have less quality considering how much volume they need to move. especially once a year for Xmas.

Paul Beau > Hine> Guillon Painturaud > Ragnaud Sabourin is how I rate the Cognac Houses

A gin n' tonic tastes so much nicer when effort was needed to get it!

Back on the ol' Polish stuff this evenin'. No work for me Fridays, so I can finally put my friggin' feet up. Second week into my new job and it's absolutely non-stop. I've hardly got time to park my arse on my chair. =D

You're such a lush bogman :p

"snow day" 8o my area must be in the only part of the UK & Ireland that isn't down because of the snow :| We have snow n' ice but roads working, which means I have to turn up for work :\

This gin is special maybe it's the aroma of security tag defeated but it's fine stuff =D
