You are the rhythm that makes me dance
You are the sunlight which shone in my eyes
That made me blind for so long
Then as the sun set
You were the revelation that opened up my mind

You are the long silver cord
That twists and dances between our souls
You are the mirror
I am the crystal ball that shatters your shards
To pierce my heart and soul with sparkling darts

You are a fortress that I cannot help but climb
The words you tell me are golden tears I cry
I am you; you are me
You are the silent strength that balances my heady emotions
A quiet storm when my tears are thunder and lightning

You are piercing blue eyes that cut through my shell
Like lasers, with precision
Musician's hands tweaking constantly, with dedication
Teasing this love out of me, fraction by fraction

You are my fierce protective love
We are an infinite unending cyclical dream
Don't deny me this, I have faith in you

This is what you are.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! I really hope to be posting more in the coming weeks. The subject of this poem has awakened a long-dormant creative flow in me. I used to post here under a different name but I've changed and grown so much that I did not want my earlier work to be connected to my new work.
