what would you recommend?

i have never done a psychedelic drug before and i dont want to screw up or end up like my friend who tried to fuck my bird, so what would you recommend to do for the first time and how much? i dont know if this would factor anything but i live in oregon; the only drugs iv'e ever done was heroin, and weed. any help would be appreciated!
