Hello folks! Im in search of some advice from an individual or individuals who have either been in a similar circumstance or have known somebody in a similar circumstance who have managed to repair the issue in some way. Anyways, here goes:
This is concerning my fiancé. C (fiancé) was in a car accident when she was 15, resulting in massive bodily harm requiring surgeries for many years. Spinal cord damage, lacerated liver, crushed discs, etc. etc.. She now has rods and pins holding various bones in place and fused discs. A lot of pain on a daily basis now.
C was prescribed pain medication at that time and has been on high doses of various opioids since. She is now 32. Unfortunately she does abuse her medicine. Fentanyl, hydrocodone, xannax. But on top of this she uses various pharmaceuticals on top of these in ode to achieve analgesia and euphoria.
I was a recovered opioid.addict and reformed felon when we became a couple and fell back into the sick/well cycle of opiates shortly thereafter. So we both struggled to stay well and support jobs. Only i kept a job and that has become our sole source of income, other than what we get on the side for different things. Recently i started Methadone Maintenance Therapy in order to stop missing work due to withdrawal, and to save money. Opiates are the absolute worst thing to be addicted to in this small town. There is no heroin here, and that's why i came home in the first place. Even the morphine and buperenorphine and roxicodone are fleeting. Nothing is available all the time. So there are spells where i cannot locate anything and she had gone through all of her medicine and still has 20 days until her refills. She suffers from epilepsy so the wd process is particularly dangerous because it can trigger grand mal seizures.
C does not want to be sick anymore. She cannot care for her daughter or keep up the house or hold down a job. I cannot afford to keep her well through black market drugs, and as a result we have come close to losing our apartment multiple times. I have recommended MMT but if she does start, she will not be prescribed fent or anything else that she needs.for pain, and methadone by itself may not help with the pain well enough. I recommended detox, but cant afford it and there is no detox center in our town. She is about to run out of morphine and has nothing else and i have no money for anything even if i located it.
If she went to methadone maintenance therapy, WOULD she be blacklisted? She needs something that she cannot access at any time, and thus take all of it in 3 or 4 days.
If there is ANY advice or course of action that you could recommend, please do. At this point I'm at a loss for what to do. What do i do? What does SHE do?
