This is great
Any ideas on how to start making those changes? Unfortunately i am a little lost on that, I don't know where to start exactly.
Therein lies the problem. The government is too big and too complex for any real change to happen. I think the federal government employs FIVE MILLION people. I did not double check that fact but I recall reading it somewhere.
Also, politicians who actually do have insight and new ideas are not likely to have a chance to implement them. Society generally isn't ready for dramatic change.
Examine some of the more ridiculous and unjust policies in this country's history and how long it took to change them.
Slavery: Existed for well over 100 years. Think about that. It took that long to figure out that slavery is wrong and unjust?
And then, once slavery was abolished, it took over 100 years for people to realize that it was wrong for black's to be treated differently under the law. We still haven't fully gotten past that even 45 years after the civil rights act.
Woman's right to vote: This took, what, 150 years?
Discrimination against gays/Lesbians/transgender. Has been going on for some time and still is, with no end in sight.
WAR ON DRUGS: Has been failing for 70 years or so and will continue to fail until they abandon the war.
Edit: I realize I wrote this only from the perspective of a US citizen, because that is all I really know. But I am sure much of it applies globally as well.
