What would cause death in a THC overdose?

Personally i wouldnt take any fake THC for fucks sake.

Ive smoked a full bowl of kief once.....it was great but i could imagine if someone hooked me up to an I.v. of Synthetic cannabinoids, it would probably be hell at very high dosages yes, actually i can imagine it now, especially in a hospital...

Without any downers you would definately panic from a huge dose

I smoke spice blends occasionally... theyre cool once in a while for "something different"... but as a replacement for cannabis however they are unsuitable and lose their funness and build toperance quickly resulting in withdrawal type symptoms when used very much and quit...

Ive been smokijg it for about a week straight now because the feds closed down my medical cannabis shop and ive needed to renew my card and find a new dispensary... hoefully next week :)

To awnser your original question one simply needs to click the link they provide for that citation. That gives you a document outlines the number of deaths due to cannabis, which is 0. It also lists the 4 deaths due to the Marinol. Keep reading to the bottom and it describes why.

Heres a snippet:

"Each of the 3 cannabis-associated cases of
cerebellar infarction was confirmed by biopsy (1
case) or necropsy (2 cases)... Brainstem
compromise caused by cerebellar and cerebral
edema led to death in the 2 fatal cases."
Apr. 4, 2004 - Thomas Geller, MD

I suggest if you see a citation you check it out, it was as easy as clicking that link and looking over the document cited in wikapedia.

Yeah, I just went and read the ref, a quick explanation for anyone curious but who does not want to read a long, dry journal article is as follows:
The major point and cause of death was a ischemic stroke of cerebellum and brainstem.

That would lead to cessation of respiration and cardiac function. What caused the stroke was cerebral edema1 which would raise intra-crainal pressure2. Since cerebral perfusion pressure is essentially systemic arterial pressure minus intra-cranial pressure, as ICP goes up, blood flow to the brain diminishes, ergo at some point it is so low that it causes an infarct3 with related death of brain tissue.

1-T2 weighted(MRI that shows water as lighter and fat as darker and is generally the mode of choice for imaging edema) M.R.I. shows hyper-intense signal in the cerebellum...a good indicator of edema, in #2
2-As evidenced by the ventriculostomy(A needle into the brain to measure the pressure) showing >60 CM H20 pressure, far, far above the usual upper limit of 20, also in patient 2.
3- Inflammatory cellular reactions and neutrophil infiltration on histology studies indicative of infarct.

This study was however, not about Marinol and was about regular old Cannabis. The Author seemed to conclude that Cannabis use is a risk-factor for cerebellar stroke in peads, and says that there is evidence that it is also such in adults, the author posits cannabis as the most realistic and likely reason these three patients, two of whom died, had cerebellar strokes. They have no specific mechanism as to why this happens, but note that it seems to be mainly associated with episodic rather then habitual users.

Take from it what you will, but that sounds like it may be the case one could consider cannabis to be very, very rarely, lethal.
