Isn't Rockstar an energy drink that contains caffeine?

Merged two similar threads.

Yes however it contains a blend of b-6 and b-12 vitamins, gurana, herba mate, and other shit that "enhances" the caffeiene?

I dont know you are probably correct (10,000 posts wow...i bow to you :)".....but mixing up energy drinks and coffee each day tends to keep my tolerance low...but hey, everyone is different!

My point is, both OP's have asked for alternatives to caffeine. :p

last to first - St Johns wort. Proper exercise.

For energy - work on rejuvenating and virilizing yourself. I will leave you to do the research. ;)

For a quick fix, ginseng is really really good, I would also recommend ephedra(if you use ephedra in a Red white & blue you come out with 3 types of amphetamine - this should tell you a lil bit about how powerful it is as a herb).

I personally just use bananas, mangoes, ginseng, and guarana, but I wouldn't suggest guarana if caffeine doesn't agree with you... It contains twice as much as coffee beans do, the buzz is more euphoric though, doesn't make me feel tweaked in the same way at all.

Yerba Mate tea is slow release - but also caffeine - I like it though - I use it to go raving or hiking.

...

To be honest though I wouldn't do ANY stimulants if you've got this sensitive to caffeine - sounds like your body can't handle any right now, plenty of warm milk for you! Calm you down, stop you getting emaciated!

Thanks for the tips, I really appreciate it :) and yeah, I made the stupid mistake of mixing energy drinks and alcohol last night and after a week of speed my heart's making me paranoid. Never touching anything that isn't slow release again! And so no one doubts the situation, my caffeine comedown today has been the worst comedown I've had since I had anything to compare it to - nasty, emotional, overreacting bull. People go too soft on that substance purely because it apparently takes a bit to be lethal.

a very good caffein substitute is gingerbeer made with the gingerBeerPlant. Does require some work to brew, which is imo part of the charm. It doesn't contain alcohol, at least not in signifecant ammounts, despite its name. And very tasty beats any energy drink except if you dislike the taste of ginger.

Besides the substances from the ginger which are actual mild stimulants, it contains beneficial bacteria, vitamins and enzymes. It bubbles an absolute competitor for caffeinated pick me ups.

Got my Ginger Beer Plant from a guy called Jim in england, who is selling the real original strain. If its allowed i will pm you his website on request, will ask the mods first just 2 be sure

@PIK

I get really intense comedowns off caffiene aswell. Makes me really anxious when I have a cup of coffee.

My alternative is some good grade green tea. Really strong, focused buzz.

Hello agatha and all, I just wanted to mention that many of us have problems with caffeine and depression. There is a book out there called "Caffeine Blues" that discusses the link between caffeine and depression at length which may be of interest. The recommendation is to avoid caffeine entirely.

I've always had problems with insomnia and depression. Since caffeine is often such a pervasive part of our lives, it can be hard to see the link when it is there. Once I took a Vivarin, and my mood and thoughts quickly went dark, and I became aware that "Wow, I really have a problem with caffeine". Consuming a large amount made me aware of a link that was probably always there, but not so easy to notice.

Recently, through googling and reading, I ran accross a device call Fisher Wallace Stimulator. It is a FDA approved treatment fro insomia, anxiety, and depression. It stimulates the brain to produce serotonin thereby helping to eleviate insomia, anxiety and depression, without drugs. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks encouraging enough to mention.

Best Wishes

You need to tonify your adrenal system, not add more stimulants.

The #1 herb for this is rhodiola. You can buy it at any health food store. Make sure each cap contains at least 200mg of the herb. You'll take 2 each morning before breakfast, and that's it. The effect is cumulative and builds over time. It's an adrenal adaptogen so it will restore your "awakeness" levels during the day (particularly epinephrine supply) while managing cortisol levels that result from stress. During the day you'll have more endurance but at night it will kill cortisol so you can wind down. It's natural and safe for the long term - I'm currently taking it.

Once it kicks in you'll notice you need caffeine less and less to get by, and stress will not affect you as much. Caffeine artificially extends the adrenal system. Rhodiola strengthens the adrenals so that they can provide natural endurance.

Good luck.

Wait, so you mean Rhodiala might help me cut down on my massive caffeine habit and help me achieve the same levels of alertness as more caffeine without side effects?!?!

Will I really be able to FEEL it working and its effects or will I just kind of have to guess that it's doing something??
