What would be the most sensible alternative stimulant? [profound caffeine allergy]

For a person who has acquired a caffeine allergy (indescribably bad side effects from just one cup of tea) yet reacted well to speed and MDMA as well as head shop "versions", what could be equivalent in casual use? I understand the issues around MDMA/damage and amphetamine/tolerance, not really looking to go buzzin' - I'm interested in the concentrational aid, mood boost and energised sensation legally available to people with no such intolerance. Any suggestions on substances that can be appropriate in moderation would be very helpful as I know I can't realistically go on forever with small amounts of speed. (For those with a sense of humour, I don't think the original Cocaine Cola was such a bad idea!) ;)

Anything stronger then caffeine??

And legal? And readily available? Tried Redbull, double shot Starbucks, etc. Nodose works ok. But, it's still caffeine!
Any recommendations??

What have you been taking caffeine for that caffeine isn't enough to do?

What doses of caffeine are you using? Tolerance to caffeine (and all stimulants actually) develops quite rapidly.

caffiene like most stimulantulants will give you a tolerance very quickly. I find redbull does very little for me if i drink it everyday, and generally redbull is the only caffiene i consume.. so now i only drink it every other day or whatever, and the caffiene works wonders.

They have caffeine pills at 711s and such. I think they work a little better than Red Bulls but if you take more than 2 at a time you will feel really nauseous. Caffeine isnt something you want to ingest too much of too quickly you will feel like complete and utter shit.

I used to take vitamin B supplements in highschool, i noticed they would give me a conciderable amount of energy. However, not nearly as much as caffeine alone.

If all else fails, stop drinking caffeine for a while (a week or two) and get some caffeine pills. A brand I found that works pretty well is "No-Doze". 100mg of caffeine per pill, same as a cup of coffee.

I used to take ground ephedra stems before workouts. Worked really damn well, without the palpitations of ephedrine pills. Maybe that was just me though.

One of my Colombian coworkers takes coca tea every morning. Or so she says. Bitch has never wanted to share!

Arginine in large doses is pretty empowering, especially the ketoglutarate (more bioavailable I think). Pretty good for furniture-breaking activities.

Piracetam plus choline is something of a godsend for me.

What do you want to use this for?

I have started using DMAA (1,3-Dimethylamylamine) before weight-training, and this definitely gets me going. I only use it 3 days a week, though, as tolerance does develop and there are some annoying side-effects. I wouldn't really suggest this outside of an exercise environment, though.

Too much caffeine always made me freak out a bit.

You need to tonify your adrenal system, not add more stimulants.

The #1 herb for this is rhodiola. You can buy it at any health food store. Make sure each cap contains at least 200mg of the herb. You'll take 2 each morning before breakfast, and that's it. The effect is cumulative and builds over time. It's an adrenal adaptogen so it will restore your "awakeness" levels during the day (particularly epinephrine supply) while managing cortisol levels that result from stress. During the day you'll have more endurance but at night it will kill cortisol so you can wind down. It's natural and safe for the long term - I'm currently taking it.

Once it kicks in you'll notice you need caffeine less and less to get by, and stress will not affect you as much. Caffeine artificially extends the adrenal system. Rhodiola strengthens the adrenals so that they can provide natural endurance.

Good luck.

eating raw almonds gives me alot of energy....i think "redlines" have like vincopetene or some other chemicals that enhance caffeine....

I just drink one monster one day, one rockstar the next (all sugar free because it is sugar in the energy drinks that makes you crash), you know just keep them rotating because the different formulas in them keep my tolerance town...

And yes, being on too much caffeine is one of the worst feelings in the world IMO

I've been using caffeine to give me a boost in the mid morning. I don't like having coffee for breakfast but after a couple of hours instead of grabbing a snack I would just have a big cup of coffee at 10 o'clock. It worked wonders for about 2 weeks, then my dose went up, up, up I was drinking 2 cups in the morning plus one with lunch and another one at night holy bajesus I was drinking way too much coffee. I began feeling like after a stim binge, worn out, empty, inhuman. I am not overstating, it was awful. My two cents.
PS, guarana, gingseng? Still crap but I'm thinking of giving it a try.

Try ethylphenidate, orally. Keep doses small and frequent. It's not really euphoric if you don't drink too much of it, and I find it gives me a better buzz than caffeine with not much side-effects (if any at all). It's all pretty smooth: concentration, thinking speed, even a small mood lift with no euphoria or tweakiness.

But you do gotta dose it properly, too little and not much effect, too much and you'll be an arrogant, edgy tweaker/

Are you totally sure that you can't get your hands on some coca leafs? How about gingseng, guarana? Yerba mate contains something called "mateine" which i think it's actually caffeine with a different name but I'me not sure..

I'm not sure but I think maybe some Provigil (Modafinil) can help with your mood, lack of energy, concentration and also mood. But I'm not sure if it has caffeine I think I need to do some more research lol... As I know it gives you a mild euphoria on high dose (400+ mg) but thats very rarely.

^ Guarana will just continue to deplete the adrenal system. Ginseng can help but you have to decoct the raw herb or obtain herbal granule extracts. If you're taking those ginseng teas you see in the supermarket or the vials with liquid in it, those won't work. I recommend astragalaus root and rhodiola if you can obtain them.

Isn't Rockstar an energy drink that contains caffeine?

Merged two similar threads.

If this actually works it sounds like a great idea, thanks :) I've been cutting my Speed Freak doses lower and lower (today was 1/4 of a pill) and weirdly it continues to get me up, especially with alcohol, but the thought of a stroke or heart attack from using every other day terrifies me beyond belief. (There is risk of stroke in my family.) I lie awake thinking what could have happened to me when I started out with real speed (so certain I was taking much more than I needed), and worse, what could have happened when I was abusing caffeine a year ago and used to get chest pains amongst other things (that experience is why I don't complain much of hangovers or comedowns now). Basically I have NO tolerance for caffeine anymore, I'm done in for that, so I hugely appreciate any suggestion not containing it (preferably something that will help rather than stress my heart, if such option exists). I'm really not looking to stay up for days anymore, I just prefer speed over caffeine because at equivalent alertness levels it goes for longer without making me sick and tweaky. When half a cup of tea can keep you awake feeling like death for 12 hours, virtually any drug starts looking attractive. :S

A second question: any mild antidepressant substances around? I can see a little optimism helping just as much as an energy boost.

last to first - St Johns wort. Proper exercise.

For energy - work on rejuvenating and virilizing yourself. I will leave you to do the research. ;)

For a quick fix, ginseng is really really good, I would also recommend ephedra(if you use ephedra in a Red white & blue you come out with 3 types of amphetamine - this should tell you a lil bit about how powerful it is as a herb).

I personally just use bananas, mangoes, ginseng, and guarana, but I wouldn't suggest guarana if caffeine doesn't agree with you... It contains twice as much as coffee beans do, the buzz is more euphoric though, doesn't make me feel tweaked in the same way at all.

Yerba Mate tea is slow release - but also caffeine - I like it though - I use it to go raving or hiking.

Nice one! I like this advice...I'll check that stuff out myself...even though I don't drink much caffeinated drinks at all, I'm sure boosting my adrenal system can't hurt.

To be honest though I wouldn't do ANY stimulants if you've got this sensitive to caffeine - sounds like your body can't handle any right now, plenty of warm milk for you! Calm you down, stop you getting emaciated!
