Feeling a heavy Indica maybe, not sure... I did get this strain called Maui Magilla Glue yesterday which is a complex slightly Sativa dominant strain. Hawaiian Dream x GG4 x Guptilla (GG4 x Gupta Kush). Possible it's Maui Wowie genetics as I don't know why they'd claim the Maui name. I've only had a few Maui strains, but it's still out there. The high overall is mostly a Blue Dream type of Sativa high. Should've just called it Hawaiian Glue, or something. Definitely in the glue family.
Very cerebral and relaxing yet sedating. The Hawaiian makes it a bit more cerebral, then GG4 is slightly Sativa as well. Has to be anyway, crossing 3 Sativas (Chem's Sister, Sour Dubb, Chocolate Diesel), and GG4 was always energizing as hell to me. Some dispensaries acknowledge it as a 60/40 Sativa, even GG Genetics on Seedfinder call it mostly Sativa, so I go with that. Plus it has a long flowering time and can grow pretty tall. The extra relaxation is likely coming from the Guptilla, aka Guptilla Kush. Otherwise, this'd probably be a tweaker Sativa, not that I dislike that, but this makes a nice balance. I do still get a lot of energy, but so calm
Anyway, quite a few people have been keeping Maui steady for the last 40-50 years or so. Sadly I can just tell it's Hawaiian Dream, since I've smoked that recently. Perhaps a Hawaiian landrace could be located in Maui but isn't the same strain. Some call Maui Wowie a landrace, some call it Hawaiian mixed with an unknown strain. Either way it's some good shit, it mostly tastes like straight glue though lol. It's not a bad taste, it's just like, damn, this tastes like tropical flavored Elmer's Glue. Got to say, I've picked up some really good shit this year, even though 2025 has been really bad for me, I've had some of the best smoke seshes.
