sux I gotta be "drugfree" ... drug court this morning and bein tested =(
 
last night i was going to leave a kpin and a bottle of carbonated water on my bed stand because i knew i was gonna be bad when i woke up. but i didn't, and my room was so cold when i had to run into my bathroom for the pill. then i wanted to run downstairs and find something carbonated. i just hoped no one was home because i was shaking way too hard to get dressed when i was just gonna get undressed a second later. there was no one in the kitchen, but there was a hot cup of coffee on the table. i burned the fuck out of my mouth taking a hurried sip. but it was worth it. and i found both root beer and carbonated water. quickly smoked before hoping back in bed. i am now about to go to bed tonight, and i still feel hung over.
 
Favorite way to start the morning

For all the meds i take 24/7 and my drug binge on Fridays (strict personal rule), i like no better way to start the day than with a cup or two of English breakfast tea, and a few Benson & Hedges classics, i find i helps me calm down if i have had a restless sleep.

does anyone else have a favorite way to start their day?

edit: by 'drug binge' i mean a few shrooms to stimulate my mind, meth raped my imagination so it's nice to see mental visuals if only for one day of the week)

I am really finding it useful with starting the day with a reading from a daily meditations book and positive affirmations. First waking thought and action is very important. A counsellor explained to me that a good way to start the day is to affirm to oneself 'I want to base my experience of today on Love, Faith, Trust and Gratitude.' He explained it as directing ones subconscious with how you want to base the experience of the day.

I do that - then I have a cup of tea an a cigarette ;)
 
I do that also other than the Friday thing.

I wake up, not always morning depending on how much pain I have been in, have a few smokes and 2 pint mugs of p.g. Tips extra strong tea bags before I start my meditation and pain management techniques. When I can that is. Other times when I am not stuck in bed I have to get my son ready for school which is an insane task, thenonce he is taken to school, I start my relaxation and have to lie back down again and get comfy.

So some mornings are ok, others are a panic filled state, which I hate as it makes me worse off for the rest of the day.


Saturdays and Sunday's are my respite days as my son goes to his dad's and grandparents, he is too boisterous and I cannot entertain him like I used to be able to so I'd end up in the looney bin by Saturday afternoon lol.
 
I notice the tea drinkers are from the UK, whats with you yanks/Canadians and your coffee, tea is so much more pleasant

@ fakeplastictrees, thought I'd read a few wake and bakes ;)

It's great to hear that you guys use positive affirmations and meditation, i do too! just cant be bothered (too grumpy) in the early morning usually fit in some yogic meditation around 10:30 once i have thrown off the grogginess (alotta sleeping problems here :( )

My favorite wake up routine goes as such. Wake up, turn on Pretty Lights, smoke a blunt, shower. I have noticed that days that I do not get the chance to do this, I always start at a lower "baseline" of happiness than when I do.
 
Ahhh fucking morning eh.

Ha yea if im feeling lazy usually ill smoke a fat bowl but most always i will take a hit or two jsut to realign myself. I also try to have something in the morning to kickstart me into gear whether its kratom (i buy often) or an energy shot. Then i head downstairs and listen to some energizing/uplifiting trance music and eat some food. Then begin my day.
 
Usually in the mornings ill eat an edible more than smoking a bowl. With the edibles i have time to fully wake up before it hits me. And i dont drink tea or coffee so i get my caffeine through good ole coca-cola. Then a cig and sportscenter haha.
 
I love mornings when I don't have to rush to work... On my days off I like to cuddle with my dog, smoke a joint in my backyard, prepare some tea, then I just sit on a couch on read until I'm hungry :)

- I barely drink coffee anymore and I'm a Canadian, so your theory falls flat (haha). Switched to fresh tea when I discovered a great tea shop in my neighborhood - they have like +100 different teas, all fair-trade and organic, at only 5$ CAD for 50 grams!! It'll take me a decade to taste them all! I even carry a strainer and a bag of tea leaves with me at all times - it's a real money-saver too.
 
I like to start every morning with my routine of grindin' up some Starbucks French Roast and proceeding to enjoy a cup or two. I then put on my favorite playlist on the computer (changes daily, usually indie/alternative) and throwin up some watercolor or charcoal sketches. And, sometimes smoke a little weed too :)
