Here's my story of something that has always bothered me because I could never understand what really happened. I was injecting meth for 8 months beginning late 2015. I'm clean now and have been for 9 months. I'm male, 28 from Australia.
About a year and a half ago I was just starting to use methamphetamine IV. My brother had injected me a few times and I felt the rush and enjoyed it. It was sort of a once off and I didn't do it much more. One of my new boyfriends was using and I decided that I would give it another go, after only having a few shots with my brother and mostly smoked it in the past. At this point in time my brother was making meth and I had scored a good deal for free. I decided to take it to this guys house to have a smoke.
Anyway, this guy I had started seeing had been injecting for over 10 years (he was 31) and was more or less using quite a bit. I bought the gear over to his house, I think it was around 3 points (not sure how else to word it.. 0.3g?). We were having a good day having a few drinks and then he asks if instead of smoking it, would I like to have a shot with him. I said I would. He prepared the shots and said he would put in 1.5 each. It's important for me to state now that I wasn't really watching what he was doing, I was just nervous and sort of tidying the area, something; I can't really remember any details about him making the shots up. He offered to administer mine first. I agreed. He put the tourniquet on my arm and he sort of struggled to find a vein; at least made the impression he was finding it hard. Squinting, taking his time, putting it in and out. It seemed not right. Soon enough, a light amount of blood flashed back and he pumped the shot into my arm. I held my arm up and felt no rush. Seconds later, I felt a lump in my arm and it went sort of numb. It didn't hurt. I became very concerned and my new friend acted quite shocked and apologised and said that he had missed the vein. By this time he had already slammed his shot and was sweating, oily and had eyes the size of dinner plates. He obviously got his shot in. He was fucked up. At this stage he's kind of concerned and half assedly looking up websites with people talking about missed veins to make me feel better. From what I had been told in the past, and it didn't register until later, is that if you miss a vein and you put even a little bit of gear into it- it hurts. It really kills and can result in all sorts of fucked up things. what strikes me mostly as wrong was that this didn't hurt; he put the whole "shot" into my arm and it dissipated about 6 hours later.
I was too embarrassed to tell anyone until now.
My question is -- Did I get injected with water so that my greedy new friend ( I never saw him again after that night) could have all the gear?
