🌟🌟 Social 🌟🌟 What TV Shows are You Binging v. Cut That Cord!

Just started watching Fleabag. It's funny. I liked the first episode more than the second. It seems like a bit of a one-trick pony. The show has a (somewhat) unique voice, but if they just keep pushing the same button, I will lose interest quick.

Also watching: The Other Two, The Rehearsal (Nathan Fielder's new show) and How To With John Wilson (because it is produced by Fielder).
Season 2 of fleabag is better, I'd keep watching

Succession started, hoping for a great season :) if so, it will end up being a classic that people will watch for many years to come.

State of TV still seems awful to me though, can barely find anything good to watch tbh.

Been watching Lost in Space (1966) in the background when eating and doing stuff in the living room. Classic sixties cheese

Babylon Berlin anyone? It s set during the last years of the Weimar Republic, starting in 1929, is a noir -detective story but there s way more, a nation in shambles, political conspiracies, almost everyone has PTSD due to the First World War (including the protagonist, detective Rath) and - or is starving (including Charlotte, police clerk by day sex worker by night), the rise of nazism, the inexorable decay of a weak democracy, esoterism and a shitload of drugs, especially Pervitin (which I guess is meth right?) Season 1 an 2 are amazing, season 3 is kinda slow but for the last three episodes and I m currently binging the forth season, which so far is excellent....

nice.. I will check this out tonight.

I'm trying to force myself to watch The Rings of Power. I'm a HUGE LOTR fan. But this show is just... pretty bad. It feels like a money grab, but I suppose that's to be expected.

1 billion dollar budget? What a joke. It's visually OK and has eye candy, but the writing is painfully mediocre. Most of the acting is also mediocre. Casting is hit and miss, especially having a main elf character which directly contradicts how elves are described in the book... very districting.

I'm really trying to like it... I just don't know if I can even finish season 1.

Overall it feels soulless, like if a corporation bought the rights to Bob Dylan's soul and used AI to make new music after he died.

I love the books but I have found the movies boring as fuck, I guess this "The Rings of Power" is not any better. Fun fact : I gave a chance to Tolkien only when I left Italy, for some (actually for no real) reason LOTR is a sort of Bible for the Italian far right, which makes no sense but that s Italy for you....

Meh, the subject matter is obviously very interesting but I wasn't super impressed by the show's execution. I watched a number of episodes while I was recovering from a surgery

I have a crush on the main actress in that show lol. Dunno why but I'm into her "look"

It does get better about half way through.

I started to like it more once I stopped comparing it to the original trilogy and thinking of it as a prequel, because it's technically not a prequel. It's not based on a book, but only snippets of the appendices and bits of The Silmarillion.
