I'm 19, in community college, and I have untreated ADHD. I set up an appointment with a psychiatric nurse practitioner for this Friday, I haven't taken Concerta in over four years, and I'm interested in getting an Adderall prescription. I'm just wondering what to expect from visiting this doctor. I'm not sure if I should put on an act for this appointment so as to convince her that I have ADHD (I was referred to the office by my psychologist anyway), or should I just act myself to get an Adderall prescription? If any of you have been in a similar situation did you have a script worked-out before going to the doctor's office to convince the psychiatrist?

We're not here to help you score drugs :\ if she's competent, she'll figure out if you need medication if you tell her HONESTLY what's been going on in your life and if you act like yourself. I see a psychiatrist, not a nurse, but he wanted to see me a few times before prescribing me anything, which is much better and which she might (hopefully) do as well. Putting on an act to get drugs you feel you need anyway is not a good idea. You're seeing someone for your mental health, it's more important than ever to actually be yourself.

As above. No threads asking what to say to your doctor to obtain drugs. Closed. Please review the BDD guidelines, PM any questions.
