What to do with salvia bush?

I have quite a nice sized salvia divinorum plant growing, but I'm not sure what my next move with it should be. Do I dry the leaves for smoking, attempt an extraction, or just chew on the leaves as Mother Nature intended?

why not try it all?

for sublingual consumption, a liquid essence would be usefull, but i have no idea how to make it. but many people on the internet say that it is way more user-friendly than chewing fresh leave.

Take 100 grams of leaf and soak in 190 proof grain alcohol, strain, evaporate the alcohol to about 1-2 ounces of liquid, add one to three grams (depending on desired potency) to the liquid. finish evaporation. You will be left with some powerful extract enhanced leaf. Self titrate the dose to find out how strong it is.

Id also look into what bagseed said, The quid method. Oral tinctures are also possible

Thanks guys, that's very helpful. I bought a little straight dried leaf, and after strapping on my helmet to plunge into the cosmos, found it underwhelming. I didn't know how old it was though, and may not have heated it enough using a regular bic lighter.

The leaves have to be infused with extracted material. Most times people will smoke 20x 40x etc. No way of telling if what a product says is actually true though.

How about leaving it as a houseplant to live out its houseplantey days?

Acetone extraction is the best option I have come across, both for making tinctures (much stronger than ethanol/"alcohol" ones) & for infusing leaf due to the remarkably high solubility of salvinorin A in acetone.

Or, chew a mouthful of the fresh leaves and hold them in your cheeks.

Yeah I'm only planning to harvest leaves, not destroy my dear little planty :)
