any way to get my mind off of rolling during my resting period? I only like to roll at most twice a month but mostly once. I can handle not taking it but oh how I love the feeling.

Do what I do pick a day for ur next roll then start counting em down 1 by 1. Doesn't really help but hey its sumtin. Actually it makes the time go slower lol. I guess just keep busy and come on here and talk bout it since u can't do it and may I suggest waiting longer than 30 days between rolls it keeps the magic alive.

It has been a while before I started rolling again. I took about 3 years off and am starting back up. I will eventually push my breaks more out after a little while. I have my next day set which will be 6/1/2012 for flux pavillion. My last roll was on 4/28 so it will be a little over a month.

I use MDMA about once a month, speed once a month, sometimes I use caffeine when I'm partying, but mostly I'm sober.
Is that what you mean?

Yeah while it's hard especially when you're still that excited about rolling you should see it as an occasional treat rather then the focus of your life.. I know what it's like man, counting down the days before you get to roll... It isn't the right way to go about this drug.

Take a hobby, find joy in other things, learn to be happy sober. When the time comes and you DO get to roll, it'll be MUCH more awesome I can guarantee... Think about this, it takes about 2 weeks to a month (right?) for your serotonin to recover. You blow it all a few days later. THAT means if you roll once a month you are living life at your full potential for maybe 5 DAYS A MONTH! Only to waste it all on the next roll!

Do you really want to live recovering from your last roll all the time? In my book, it's not worth it. I know it's hard, and I too have the tendency to count down the days and such but try to slow down. When it's been a month, and if you are able to resist, why not wait a while longer. You'll thank yourself for it :)

I think the hardest thing about sticking to the once every 30-90 days rule is seeing everyone else not following that rule.

I go to a fair few dnb events/raves completely sober, I've got a lot of energy so it's no problem to go until 6am. But the hardest part is seeing everyone else off their fucking tits, making mandy friends, having an amazing time etc. while I'm having an amazing time but nowhere near as much. I always resist though.

True Chesh, I have that same problem haha, I always think (well, atleast there won't be a comedown for me..) when I feel like that lol

My mate did that at the last rave we went to; decided he didn't wanna do it. Instead he downed like 6 pro plus caffeine pills, 2 red bulls and a big mountain dew before we got in. By 6 am he was a zombie with a caffeine crash i've never seen before while I was sober after-glowing as it was now like 5-6 in the morning and i dropped at like 11. I told him he might have well have done the MD; safer than all that caffeine and the comedown's for me have been nothing but an enjoyable afterglow. His loss I guess!

Haha unlucky, that's a fuck load of caffeine though. Sometimes at 6am I'm knackered but usually I'm still fairly energetic, I don't bother with any caffeine or anything though.

I look forward for other things that bring a smile to my face spending time with my fiancé my friends those things matter and keep me busy

Bluelight isnt here to tell you which drugs to take...

We ARE here however to help you. And you seem like you need it... you shouldn't be thinking about what to do on the weeks you arnt doing MDMA... you should be thinking about what to do with the MONTHS between rolls! Alexander Shulgin (the father of MDMA) says to only roll once every 3 months. Most people here will agree that one month is usually OK though.

Get out, enjoy LIFE. Go do what you do when you're rolling.. but do it sober, and MAKE it fun. It's really not that hard to find things to replace MDMA.... if you really want a suggestion though, you cannot go wrong with good ol' LSD. Psychedelics are the closest things to MDMA, other than amphetamines of course..

What a question...

Folley is right about spacing.
90 days is the MINIMUM required to counteract some of the neurotoxic changes that occur from MDMA use.
Tryptophan hydrolase, the enzyme that synthesizes serotonin, is permanently deactivated by MDMA for 1 to 3 months.
This means the body has to replace the supply of TPH, before synthesis of serotonin can return to normal.

This alone does not imply that the 'damage' caused by MDMA depends solely on the depletion of serotonin.
Loss of higher cortical axons can occur without substantial serotonin depletion, and likewise depletion can occur without substantial loss of higher axons.
BUT...

It is well established that REPEATED DOSES, which deplete serotonin greatly, cause exponentially more and more damage to higher brain serotonin nerves and receptors.
It seems that continued use of MDMA during periods of low brain serotonin supply will INCREASE the neurotoxic effects of the drug.
Or the 'permanent re-wiring' for those who wish to debate such language.

Although spacing every two the three weeks may not lead to drastic consequences at first, your potential for rolling throughout your adult life will be endangered by this practice.
Follow the 90 day rule, and increase the gap as you go, and you may just be fortunate enough to roll for many many years.
There is NO reason to roll once a month, and certainly not twice.
It is a neurotoxin, period.

Spend quality time with your family and friends, they are more important than any drug. go to the gym, visit the cinema, a restaurant, spend a quiet night at home listening to music or playing video games, read articles on the web, play with a new technology toy.. loads of stuff to do if you look around :)
