any way to get my mind off of rolling during my resting period? I only like to roll at most twice a month but mostly once. I can handle not taking it but oh how I love the feeling.
I think the hardest thing about sticking to the once every 30-90 days rule is seeing everyone else not following that rule.
I go to a fair few dnb events/raves completely sober, I've got a lot of energy so it's no problem to go until 6am. But the hardest part is seeing everyone else off their fucking tits, making mandy friends, having an amazing time etc. while I'm having an amazing time but nowhere near as much. I always resist though.
My mate did that at the last rave we went to; decided he didn't wanna do it. Instead he downed like 6 pro plus caffeine pills, 2 red bulls and a big mountain dew before we got in. By 6 am he was a zombie with a caffeine crash i've never seen before while I was sober after-glowing as it was now like 5-6 in the morning and i dropped at like 11. I told him he might have well have done the MD; safer than all that caffeine and the comedown's for me have been nothing but an enjoyable afterglow. His loss I guess!
What a question...
Folley is right about spacing.
90 days is the MINIMUM required to counteract some of the neurotoxic changes that occur from MDMA use.
Tryptophan hydrolase, the enzyme that synthesizes serotonin, is permanently deactivated by MDMA for 1 to 3 months.
This means the body has to replace the supply of TPH, before synthesis of serotonin can return to normal.
This alone does not imply that the 'damage' caused by MDMA depends solely on the depletion of serotonin.
Loss of higher cortical axons can occur without substantial serotonin depletion, and likewise depletion can occur without substantial loss of higher axons.
BUT...
It is well established that REPEATED DOSES, which deplete serotonin greatly, cause exponentially more and more damage to higher brain serotonin nerves and receptors.
It seems that continued use of MDMA during periods of low brain serotonin supply will INCREASE the neurotoxic effects of the drug.
Or the 'permanent re-wiring' for those who wish to debate such language.
Although spacing every two the three weeks may not lead to drastic consequences at first, your potential for rolling throughout your adult life will be endangered by this practice.
Follow the 90 day rule, and increase the gap as you go, and you may just be fortunate enough to roll for many many years.
There is NO reason to roll once a month, and certainly not twice.
It is a neurotoxin, period.
