I am trying to make my opiate meds last longer (I'm running out early) and I thought I would take one pill and boost it with a LOT of poppy pills. Problem is...I keep forgetting to breathe now. Should I be worried? Or will this go away on its own? I really, REALLY do not want my family to know about this....

Ahh, well...there's really no safe way to prevent the CNS depression from opiates....Most people who "forget to breathe", aren't aware of it happening...

The obvious, stupid looking answer: Take less opiates

^Damn, yes! If this is going on now, absolutely seek medical attention, or at the very least find someone to watch you in whom you have trust!

Since you were making a coherent post, it never occurred to me that this was happening in real time!

If you're able to sit down and craft a post online, chances are you are fine..

Real respiratory depression, you aren't actually aware of as it's happening..

Still, the only counter to that.. is taking less opiates, or a good ole shot of narcan.
