So occasionally i'll call for a refill of my codeine/promethazine syrup...maybe 1ce sometimes 2x a month, anyway i got a script from the doc when i went last time bout month and 1/2 ago. I filled the syrup, used it for my pain rather than cough since my doc won't give me shit for pain, so it goes alot quicker. There was 1 refill on the bottle so about 20 days later i called the pharm. and asked if i could get my refill that day, they said yea so i did.
Needless to say these are 8oz. bottles and only last 2 or 3 days(2) and i ran out of both.

Last week(about a week after i ran dry) i got really sick with sore throat, cough, congestion , runny nose and shit. I was pretty sick so i asked my mom if she could ask doc for a refill in her name since i drank all mine.

Basically the doc or nurse made a big deal about calling in the syrup(which he did) and now the doc wants to see my mom next week? Not only that, but the syrup we got even tho it says phenameth/cod on the label, is much thinner, light purple/brownish, and tastes completley diffrent.
Now initially i thought "oh its probably just another brand" but now i'm starting to think they gave us weaker shit..on purpose::X
I hope i didn't get me or my mom flagged as drug seekers over some petty ass bottles of cough syrup, id rather spend <no price discussion> on a oxy if my doc won't provide adequate treatment. I could understand if we had alot of Rx's for narcotics but we dont, she takes tramadol(shit drug) for arthritis, xanax .5mg, and I take lorazepam 1mg and adderall and cough syrup when i can get it.

I could understand him giving us some placebo or fake cough syrup under the table if we begged him for dilaudid everytime we went but we never do ask for drugs. Just let the doc RX what he wants to and take it as it is even if it doesn't help.

Don't get me wrong i love this doc he has been with the family for years, but if he wants my mom to pay for a visit for him to tell her that I or she is a drug seeker, im gonna be pissed. I could understand if it was real opiods but schedule IV really??? You can't write us anymore schedule IV?? thats like shit they give to babies for coughs.

Anyway has anybody here ever got some Codeine/ promethazine syrup that was lighter in color, brown hue, tastes more like otc syrup than purple surple, and not NEARLY as thick as normal...

any advice appreciated

What kind of advice are you looking for? What's written on the bottle you received? Doctors and pharmacies do not give you one thing and tell you it's another, that's illegal. Any "conspiracy" is in your head.

You've got to consider the doc's point of view. He sees an increase in the refill rate and when your refills run out, in a perfectly timely matter (consistant with use and eventually withdrawal of said med), your mom requests a prescription of the same exact medication... This would definitely draw red flags with both the dr.'s office and the pharmacy. Although, like Tri said, it would be totally illegal for them to write one thing and distribute (for administration) another thing... So no, no one is conspiring against you, but it is quite possible that the dose was lower, since it was prescribed to your mom and not you, it may not be the same dosage... So, again, what did the bottle say? Is the dosage and manufacturer the same as what was prescribed to you?

To answer your question of whether you got you or your mom "flagged" as drug-seekers, possibly within your doctor's office. But most likely, not on some federal level. Wouldn't it also be very possible that you and your mother both got sick? If you live in the same household, this is quite possible...

Depending on your age, you should consider getting a new doctor, if you are not satisfied with the treatment you are receiving. But remember that many doc's are not going to want to prescribe you adderall and opiates together, as there are many possible negative side effects that can come from this...

Just my two red headed cents... :|

^I agree, depending on the size of the doctors office, it certainly could raise red flags. Generally, asking a family member to get prescribed something for you is an unintelligent idea.

Did you think that nothing would, or even could happen? Regardless of our opinions on CIV substances, that's not usually the same way a physician would see it. They see your mom requesting the same schedule four opioid narcotic that they just denied you. I'm really not convinced that this is OD material, we aren't here to help you obtain prescription medication from your doctors, for legitimate or illegitimate use, as explained in our guidelines and the bluelight user agreement. But no, they aren't tampering with your medication, they distribute what's written on the bottle, so just check with that.

PM me if you have further questions.
