Toxic reactions to psychedelics

2 weeks ago I got out of the hospital for what I thought was a bad trip. I had felt an Extreme stimulation and the ultimate rush. The world was unraveling in an indescribably horrifying way in which looked like the end of my human life. Stupidly I took 2C-B last night at 15mg and my fucking god it almost happened again. It felt like I was reconnecting to a central consciousness and I felt a building sense of extreme stimulation inside of me as everything unwound into fractals in the same hellish way. I fought this for 5 hours with stress tea, water, xanax, and mental fortitude.

My question is, what was that? I feel I almost went into a full blown seizure on a trip on two separate occasions.. Should I seek medical attention? I will never do drugs again but I sort of feel like my brain is giving me some very firm warning signs...

Right now I feel finr aside from a little feeling of being shooken up and a little head tightness

What had you taken 2 weeks ago?

Medical attention seems like the most obvious thing to recommend, yes.
Seizures are serious, and can have a number of health implications.
You should probably see a neurologist, who I imagine will send you for some tests, such as an MRI and an EEG.
It is important to make sure you do not have some underlying issue causing seizures (such as epilepsy) and that you've not done serious physical harm.

You should also consider that your 2C-B might actually be an Nbome, sounds like the kinds of things I've read from people who OD'd on those, and 15mg isn't normally considered a lot of 2C-B, but it's a dangerous seizure-inducing dose of Nbome for sure.

2 weeks ago i took 20mg mxp and 50mg 4homipt. I want to add, I was always in my body and I resisted it. My heart rate never got too high, and this trip I didn't get to the same state as last trip at all. Is it Urgent that I see a doctor? I feel physically fine now that ive come down and my heart rate is stable

EDIT : Walking around my heart rate peaks at 130. I've had this after MDMA doses in the morning, it's not unheard of for my body.

Tested, came out right. Girlfriend dosed more and she was A ok

I would definitely take an extended break from psychedelic drugs if I were you. Seeing a doctor wouldn't be unwise.

Can anyone give me any more advice or guidance here? I still have no idea what happened.

Can a very bad trip that almost resulted in seizures have flashbacks on future trips?

Cyberius, I've seen you on the forums for a while, and I can't help thinking it's going to be very, very hard for any bluelighters to diagnose you in a meaningful way. You really, really need to see a doctor if you want any actionable advice. Even they may not be able to tell you exactly why this has happened, since you seem to have been a very heavy combination drug user.

You really should not be worried about this, because you really should not be tripping at any time in your foreseeable future. I really hope you take this episode as a warning and abstain from drug use, or at least keep it as minimal as you can for as long as possible.

As for the answer to your question, frankly you're in uncharted waters. There's no telling whether you'll be able to trip comfortably again or not.

I do not fully understand. Did you have a seizure or not? What did the doctors at the hospitals say?

I have never tried mxp

but with any tryptamine or lysergamide when mixed with ketamine. I have no choice but to let the world dissolve around me. If I fight it bad things happen. The thing is with ket the duration is short. I have seen many trips go south due to mixing in long acting dissociates

Thank you for your response. I was just wondering because my last trip happened again with this trip. I do not plan on using drugs again because just thinking about taking drugs at this point makes me cringe and panic deep deep inside. I do understand this situation is very rare and I've found nothing about this anywhere on the internet. I just really hope I can find some answer or similar experience to draw a conclusion on what actually happened inside my brain and what kind of damage I might of done.

Doctors had no clue. The closest possible diagnoses was serotonin syndrome but even that was inconclusive and dismissed IIRC. I think I almost went into seizures because of the EXTREME stimulation that was coming over me.

But you had no seizures?

The whole story is clear as mud

No, I never went into a truly critical situation like that, I just feel I came very Very close on two seperate occasions. My bad, I'm shaken up pretty good from all this.

Best of luck to you. It's a really good sign that you feel mostly okay right now. Your best way forward is probably the usual general-purpose mental recovery regimen: try to eat healthy, get regular exercise, and get plenty of sleep. That way you'll continue to feel fine and you'll feel less shaken up as time goes by.

Run with the advice the others gave or else...

...nothing is much worse.

Do not take this post as a reason not to pursue medical advice on this situation.... You really, really should talk to a medical specialist about it. Seizures are no joke.

However... I just had to stop by to say, I wouldn't necessarily just conclude that that's what's going on yet. I have full body tremors on psychedelics all the time, and they correlate with how intensely I'm hallucinating. I actually know for a fact as well that I would get them particularly intensely from 2C-B and 4-HO-MiPT. Despite my fear that they could for a long time, they never lead to seizures; actually, they seem to me to mostly result from a combination of muscle tension, stimulation, sensory overload, and a lack of movement. Interestingly, I often find that they actually become less intense as my doses increase, around the same time that the psychedelic switches from stimulating to physically disorienting. Dancing and warm showers also do very well to make the shaking stop for me.

It's possible that you may be uncovering a seizure disorder, but it's also possible that you're not. The problem is, as has been said, you're in uncharted territory. You may really be fine, but you may not be. At the very least, I would definitely echo what others have said and not plan to trip again at least until you've had medical specialists look at you, and to take time to recover from drug use as well. After that, if you still seem to be fine, you may be able to work your way back up to it slowly again, but it will still be at your own risk. You definitely do not want to make any foolish gambles with your own health....

Want to second that warm water really helps with the feeling of electricity. I've spent a good percentage of my trips soaking in a tub. thats my go to remedy for that kind of thing. I simply enjoy tripping and recovering from tripping in water. Epsom salts are a nice touch added to the water.

I'm guessing you've had a talk with your girlfriend? If not, that needs to be on your to do list. She needs to be onboard with the changes you're trying to make. Sounds like she's a psychonaut too and you guys liked to travel together, so you can't ignore that conversation.

Feel free to let us know what is working for you and check in. It may be comforting to share what's going on in the day to day,it may be helpful to others one day too and more details are gonna help. Aside from the advice that's been given there isn't much we can add, but keep at it and insights will come.
