Me also, I only started to be properly Intro'd to Ian Brown solo a few years back really TBH, and have some great memories tied in with the Stone Roses! :D...

When I hear "Pepper" by The Butthole Surfers I think of OD too now! Especially after that short yet memorable discussion in regards to the similarities between abovementioned song and "People Who Died" by The Jim Carroll Band. If only the song were as uplifting lyrically as it is melodically!
