I can't be the only one who constantly ruins movies for themselves because of dumb mistakes they make?

I definitely have way more and will add them as I remember, but this thread is inspired by my just having watched The Wizard of Oz (1939) with my niece and spending the entire movie an a totally unreasonable RAGE every time they mentioned the Tin Man rusting.

I know it’s a minor thing but as I studied Media for a while in College and also can be a bit of a pedant I hate when someone goes in / out of a door and then oh no it’s now shut without said person shutting it.

On a very similar note it bugs me when a character gets out of a car and DOESN’T shut the door. I kinda get it if in a horror or action scene but going into the family home? Uhm no 😂

YES! I am a horror/action movie guy

Horror movies -- This is the damn US (Most of em are set in) everyone has a gun or knows where someone keeps one. Dude with a knife chases them around for hours and the thought "Gun" never comes up.

Action movies -- Similar complaint --- Put your back flat against a solid wall and point at the only door. DO NOT GO TO THE NOISE. That is crazy dumb

Costume attire inconsistencies when they have to reshoot a scene is usually the most common for me.
Yeah, I'm gonna notice if the blood is more dried than it was , or if you've changed shirts entirely.

Day/Night inconsistencies in backgrounds of windows is also something I notice sometimes.

And in the movie The Nightmare, which is a documentary about sleep paralysis from several years back, there's a funny inconsistency in the reenactment part where in the background you can see a staff member helping get the hood and costume head piece on the actor before he walks into the room. 😂

^That is a damn good one --- Magic drugs equations and tech that give you just enough pseudo science you look into it and see where it goes horribly off rails!

you guys are sticklers lol its the obvious stuff for me

Introducing a character in the third act of a whodunnit who dunnit is a classic.

Jump scares are just hard to not telegraph

Crappy CGI -- I can suspend disbelief only so much - so many low budget movies "WHYD YOU GO FOR THAT EFFECT!!" Been so much better with a cutaway or basically anything that didn't highlight a combo of no budget or creativity

Ending your movie with a sequel tease before having a sequel greenlit!
