Benzos What should I do? (diazepam withdrawal).

all this post did is make me realize how addicted i am to my benzos. D: i was prescribed xanax in 2003. low dose. .25mg twice daily. 2 years later i was on two bars per day. my doc switched me to ativan, which was kind of nice but made me a ZOMBIE so he prescribed me klons about 2 years ago and they seem to work the best for my anxiety and panic. 1mg twice daily....now my question is...if i have been talking benzos twice daily for 10 years....how severe would cold turkey withdrawal be for me? deadly, even? he also has me on promethazine 25mg twice a day. if he knew how much OC i abuse he would jerk those pills right out of my hand and kicked my ass.

Yeah I didn't like Ativan either, definitely felt like a zombie...
I would DEFINITELY not stop Klonopin at 2mgs a day, taken for 10 years.

Why not just taper? That's double the dose of Klonopin I was at before I started tapering, but I can tell you it's very doable.
It sucks, but it's doable :\
 
Benzo withdrawls are horrible. You should just taper down to your normal dose (which I know is hard but it will pay off) and then get off the Valium if you don't need it anymore. Just do not go cold turkey. You have the risk of having sezuires or even death. Benzo's control your central nervous system that's why the withdrawls are bad physical and mentally. There are medicines out there for benzo withdrawls if you would want to go that way. But I would just taper to be honest.
 
I know how it feels OP, I am also scripted 20mg of valium a day, i only have 4 left now and refill is jan 15. Meanwhile I have clonidine, seroquel 25mg(the ones for sleep) and hydroxyzine 50mg. And even with all that it will be a little uncomfortable.

I also dropped benzo use using valium. 3 years ago i was at 3mg a day of clonazepam. it worked yes, but i also felt like an emotionless zombie so i decided to do an ashton style taper with my pdoc. He wanted to get me off benzos compltely, but i was unable to go farther down the dosage than 20mg a day. It is still a 66% reduction in benzo consumption according to charts. I feel much more human now, i have a little anxiety now, but the good kind, at 20mg a day it doesnt go overboard.

Ugh, i dunno when i will dose again, im trying to stretch those 4 remaining blues last as long as possible. Like only take if panic attack.

Also I was going to go out for a meal tonight and wanted to have some beer with it. I cut down to 15mg a day yesterday, if I drink tonight is this going to completely fuck up my plan?
 
I got 2 left, its going alright, I can tolerate just taking one a day. If I throw in some hydroxyzine it is fine. What is not fine is when I have no benzos at all. I rarely ever abuse them but i did this month. I really should not do that anymore. Cos I noticed 10mg a day will hold me. hell even 5mg if my day is a good day. I do not look forward the 8 days or so ill be without them. Although my insurance is weird and I could try to renew on the 10th and it will work
