its not the drugs, per se, its that after u do the drugs u want more drugs, and its stressfull when u cant have em, thats why your hair falls out

Yeah, I've also heard of a couple people who lost hair from hard raving and taking a lot of ecstasy pills. I have no evidence to back this up though and maybe it wasn't the ecstasy that did it.

Yeah, I have no evidence too but I think it's connected, I feel sorry for the guy I know, he's very ugly with this kind of maculated alopecia.

Similar to the above comment - please try not to spread rumors and what I call "junkie science". The whole purpose of BL and especially OD is to combat rumors and get factual information into people's hands so they can make responsible decisions and be able to evaluate and understand the real consequences of their use. Sometimes rumors are true but if they are spread around without substantiation, it makes it harder for people to be able to know or determine what's true.

Otherwise losing your hair is the last thing you should worry about when doing recreational drugs.

This is a physical impossibility. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter in the brain. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is an androgen produced from testosterone. I have never heard of dopamine converting into DHT.

I can think of two reasons why stimulants would cause hair loss: a) Constriction of the blood vessels leading to poor circulation in the scalp and b) a poor diet which leads to a lack of protein intake--hair is mostly protein.

Nevertheless, I would think hair loss has more to do with genetics than stimulant intake.

I've been blessed with a thick head of hair.

This reminds me of the debate about Viagra causing sudden death. The fact is, many elderly men take Viagra, and they don't stop dying of old age for doing so (otherwise Viagra would be an immortality drug).

Male-pattern baldness hits many men at an age when they start getting seriously into drugs. This is correlation without causation.

A useful discussion would be whether drugs that work against baldness (Propecia) are compatible with recreational drugs. Propecia seems quite hazardous on its own anyway:

Street drugs shouldnt lead to hair loss, especially to a girl. I have 2 friends that used steroids for several years & they didnt go bald, in fact they have a thick set of hair & they are in their late 30's. Hair loss does have to do with genetics as well.

i was going to also ask about birth control pill. this is a less common but not unheard of side effect of soem types of bc pills. youve been on long enough for it to manifest i'd believe. i had sudden and pretty substantial hair loss one one particular type of pill - it was microgestin - and it immediately stopped when i switched to a different kind. this also happened to my mother while on bc pills, and gyno said it does happen.

i do not think you have done a substantial amount of rec drugs to cause this but as others have said probably wouldnt hurt to investigate it more.

what brand pill are you on? try looking it up at askapatient.com and you may see other women with the same side effect. i find that site to be great at providing "real life" experiences with Rx drugs, and especially all the different types of birth control brands.

I thoroughly enjoy using methcathinone (CAT). However I use lets say every two weeks or so, I do tend to over indulge a bit so I will go through a 24hr+ period of using. Depending on the quality if its good two grams if not can be more. However what I have noticed is that everytime I use, the next day and weeks ahead when I wash and comb I literally remove clumps of hair from brush. In general I have a very good diet, take my daily vitamins, l-lysine vit, Greens drink, omega oils and yet I am still losing. So my only train of thought is the use of CAT. I am also a smoker plus minus 10 a day and love to drink red wine. For a women in her early 30's this can basically ruin your self esteem. please help...

this is just an educated guess, but id say STRESS!!!! has a lot to do with it!
