just from a snorting perspective, as soon as its up your nose you just get that "Im not fucked up now but in a very very short amount of time I will be" feeling and then in about 5-10 mins or so you start feeling this warming sensation in your chest and you feel it being depressed a bit (some people dont like the feeling, I like to know its working) and then depending on the quality / how much you did it will vary from there but it is more sedative than say Oxycodone or Hydrocodone but not quite as sedative as morphine or fent. Expect to nod out at least once during the high

Well from point of view as a noob who did it twice its what you expect but what I didn't expect was the enjoyable dream state with interesting "dreams" when you "nod". At least thats what it seemed like.,
Now i see why a seemingly pasted out state is in fact enjoyable with stuff happening.

But if you like doing stuff on drugs like working on your laptop, it can be a bit disruptive. I guess im used to stims and needing to do stuff to enjoy yourself.
Though watching i a movie is entertaining when you come out of the nod and compare the short bit of the movie you hallucinated with reality.
I'm usually pretty accurate.

Another wierd thing as a noob is that you dont realize at all when you have closed your eyes and left reality and entered your mind, its wierd. You only realize when you "wake up".

Oh and lastly doing a line tends to give me scary rush with loud rushing sound in your ears. It feels like what a stim rush would be.

Besides the nod the euphoria certinally wasnt comparable to the common godlike descriptions you often hear but apparently you need to do it a few times before it feels like it should

I've tried almost every kind of narcotic out there but I won't touch herion and btw, coke ever again. One, I love coke way too much back in the day and it almost killed me. I figure, any substance that is "that" good can't possibly "be" good for you, oh and dying really sucks. Herion sounds like the ultimate narcotic and exactly why I would never try it. I'm sure I'd love it to death! But the main problem is that it'll never be as good as the first time and it's really gotta suck trying to chase the first high the rest of your life. Talk about druggy blue balls, absolute and total frustration! Not for me.

If you think coke is good and struggle with it please never try meth. I will say though coke gave me terrible cravings way worse then meth,

That's how it was for me, when I first began IVing. The first number of times I did it, it felt intense, but not exactly in a pleasurable way. I think it had to do with the fact that I just didn't really know what to expect. It also made my heart race, and gave me a little bit of anxiety (probably from worrying about ODing). Then one day when I did it, I must have grown accustomed to it and I suddenly realized exactly what the rush was. From there on out I never went back to insufflating the drug and I couldn't get enough of that feeling.

I enjoyed coke in my early twenties but I couldn't be bothered with it now. I've only done glass once in my life (but multiple bumps in one evening), when a friend of my roommates stopped by our apartment for a party one night and brought a bag down with him. He told my roommate and I that when he smoked it, he instantly felt like he was going to have a heart attack. This person then laid my roommate and I out two bumps, one for each of us. I had no apprehensions of trying it and when I did, coke was completely rendered useless. It burnt a little going up my nose, but wasn't a searing pain, as I had been led to believe. Once it took effect I felt extremely lucid, alert; with a general sense of well being. It didn't feel dirty or it wasn't speedy, as I didn't really feel any heart palpitations or anything like that.

My friend and I were floored by it and we kept asking for more. The person who introduced us to it was telling us we didn't need anymore at the moment and if we kept going, we'd be crossing that line (amphetamine psychosis, which, yes, ended up occurring). It got to the point that we hounded him so much that he just said fuck it and threw the rest of the bag at us and we went town on it. Cocaine has absolutely nothing on the crystal that him and I did that night. Unfortunately for us, when dawn approached we were completely tweaked out, and didn't sleep for approximately 3 days straight. I experienced both peripheral and auditory hallucinations; thinking I was seeing people out of the corner of my eye, and distinctly hearing people calling my name. While it was sketchy to say the least, it was sketchy and creepy in a way that I actually enjoyed. Though I was thoroughly pleased by the effects and experience of that night, both my roommate and I literally had a lifetime's fill of meth, in just one night. We never touched it again.

Heroin to me didnt impress. It may have been shitty dope Im not sure since I only tried it once, the people I was with said it was decent.

I shot up 2 bags, it hits you slower than I expected for shooting up. It creeps up on you quick, quickly filling your body with the most euphoric, heavenly feeling, just like other opiates. Only dope has this very pleasurable body rush.

To be honest, intoxication wise, percocets get you higher. Dope is a better high is all. It is really not worth the destructive addiction to me, percocets work just fine. I recently got to try 30mg IR morphine pills, its basically the same beautiful high I remember from dope, with less of a rush. Still amazing. Dope simply isnt worth it.

You're probably right, when I did this stuff I was much younger and it was years ago. Meth was not very big at all back in the 70's and 80's. However coke was all over but I never had enough money to get in trouble with it except once. I played in a working band back then and there was this one guy who was a hanger-on/roadie type and he knew I like coke. So, one night he had at least a quarter ounce and had my wife over to him and his wife's place to party and snort our brains out. Unfortunately, I could not stop chop, line up and snort and did it for 4-5 hours straight. I ended up on the floor close to death. I obviously survived but that was the end of me and coke. I may be dumb but I'm not that stupid. Honestly, I'm lucky to be alive!

It just feels very mellow but you also feel that everything in life is okay and the way it should be :)

And again, I'm going to answer your question with a response you've most likely heard before.
You can't describe a heroin high, even snorting it or smoking it has enough ridiculous euphoria, but IV'ing it, there's nothing comparable.
I never shot it but I used to blow it for 2 years straight, and even I can tell you that you can't describe it.
You just have to try it for yourself to truly see the amazing effects, but I wouldn't advise it.

You're going to get tons of different descriptions... I mean, there's a lot of ways to describe it.. But basically it's a more intense opiate high that is even more heightened by the fact that you get a "rush", something that is only really attributed to IV'ing.. It's just this amazing, orgasmic, warmth that pulses through your body.. hitting you like a mac truck as soon as you finish pushing the plunger down.. pure euphoria, and for that few minutes.. You feel like a God.

But.. then it ends, and you're left empty, and walking a very dangerous path. Then that high begins to wain over time.. soon you start using just to get rid of the withdrawals.. your veins begin to disappear, hitting becomes harder, and your life quickly turns to shit.

That's what it's like.

Sound appealing? :\

for the first few years it is, the last 5 years it's just been a monotony of being well or sick, having a huge tolerance or the very least a few months clean. very rarely any real stability. though when times are good they are good and that goes for the bad as well.

with the degenerative disc disease and co-morbidity of depression and GAD, opiates are insidious for me to start abusing and injectng on regular basis, let alone chasing the nod. after nearly 9 years on opiates it takes too close to an OD or well over the limits of poly drug abuse with benzos mainly the culprit, sometimes hard liquor such as whiskey and vodka.

i still slip into my morphine dreams but i've usually taken some valium and smoking a bit of pot on top. it was really only a few years ago when i thought i had a monkey on my back but after a 6 month break at the beginning of this year and my tolerance budging almost nowhere in reverse things have only stayed much the same, fluctuating for small periods.

i type this after a shot of morphine earlier, some vaium and now sipping on whiskey. ha.

and heroin is meant to be the drug at the top of the "pyramid"
please don't judge drugs like that, ever since I've actually tried particular drugs, I started to understand that the drug pyramid/drug ladder which goverment and even ordinary people/drug using people tell us about, DOES NOT EXIST and DOES NOT FUNCTION.

Every person who has once been addicted to some hard drug always treats the drug like it's at the top of the ladder, the best drug one can possibly ever try, and looks upon other people who have been addicted to another drug just because he's been addicted to something else. I've seen this in people who have been for example addicted to amphetamine but didn't get hooked to heroin, or the other way around.

The smell of some good quality heroin is almost a high on its own, that sourish smell to it. OHHH MY GOD...

So glad those days are over, I told myself I'd never use heroin, then after 5 days of 100mg a day oxycodone pill withdrawals, I gave in. Not because I wanted to try heroin out of curiosity, but because I couldn't stand the withdrawals.... such hell and pain.

If you've never done it, you might puke up a lot. Shit is strong, and its easy to just snort a fat line by mistake. Quality varies and there's no set dosage known for your weight and tolerance.

Even if you have a mild or moderate tolerance to oxycodone already, snorting H for the first time makes it kick in FAST and HARD, you get that immediate warm buzz feeling to the stomach RIGHT AWAY. Its almost like the first time I did percocet 5mg (LOL, 5mg). If you get a good batch, it really does feel like the first time you did oxycodone all over again, like reliving the moment in the past. I've never shot up anything either (and I don't recommend that path).

What happens when you can't keep your eyes open? Well while you're nodding off, its a pretty good feeling, except its also a waste of the drug since you're feeling it only half the time, since you're basically sleeping. You kinda want a buzz just before you get to that nodding stage, so you can feel its effects the whole way through... although I kinda screwed that up a few times myself, and ended up nodding.

IMO, the drug that sits at the "top of the pyramid" would be meth, since it gives you the appearance of rapid aging. You could snort a ton of H for years, but as long as you don't shoot up, you won't have marks/collapsed veins in your arms, and you'd just look skinny from losing a lot of weight, but that could be remedied by quitting and eating a lot. Just my opinion though.

If I were you, stay the fuck away from heroin, don't even look for that shit. Only look for pills! Oxycodone pills have consistent quality, they aren't cut with bullshit, and the sellers are probably less shady. Before considering heroin, can you afford a $200 a day habit? $300? Pills are expensive too, and I was at $60-80 a day. Looking back, GOD DAMN. Anyways, my heroin habit only lasted four months, and I only did it a few days per month, then I stopped opiates completely cause picking up in Newark was mad dangerous!!!

The worst thing about heroin are the random fentanyl batches that kill even experienced addicts.

I know its not the same but when i tried Kratom before any opiate, I struggled to identify what it was doing that was good and kept taking more and getting sick.
You take some time to identify the subtle beauty that is the point of it all. Its not comparable to any other feeling. Its something new you need to learn to take notice of.

At least if you are starting low and safely. Im sure a big massive fist time doses are easier to notice lol

This thread isn't harm reduction so I am going to close it. If you have tried other opiates or opioids you have a good idea of what heroin feels like. I probably couldn't even tell the difference between heroin and hydrocodone in a blind test, considering the heroin wasn't IV'd, in which case the only difference would be the rush.

If you would like to read about how people feel from heroin that I recommend searching through the Trip Reports forum.
