If their feet have to eventually come in contact with the street, I typically avoid such confrontations. Long distance relationships work out so much better in this field.

What puts you off a street dealer?

Going to street dealers is not the way to go IMO, especially with psychedelics. It just doesn't seem to match up.
If you have a hard time finding psychedelics it might be a culture / social circle thing, and I don't think street dealers are typically the answer to that because
- trippers are less of a target audience I'd expect
- they are untrustworthy far too often
But in any case, I'd like to point out that mushrooms are a bit more difficult to fake if you know what they are supposed to look like.
I am not sure I would be an expert in feeling if a guy is shady or not beyond what most people would be able to pick up going by the obvious.

I'm always down to try new drugs, but I need to know what I'm taking. So usually psychedelic wise I don't get off random street dealers. Occasionally I hear about a kid that has 'acid' and I go and get a few hits just to see whats up.
Never gotten real LSD in the past two years off someone locally. Stumbled upon pure MDMA from a stranger though. Now works in the Philly area, but still delivering great, pure, MDMA.
With shrooms its kinda straight forward. Can you still get ripped off? Yes, I've gotten bunk shrooms. Where I'd eat ten grams and just feel like 10mg of adderall.
Just trust your instinct, if it seems to good to be true...it probably is.
Also, people who sell psychedelics tend to be (from my experience) more caring. When passing onto my friends I always tell them the substance, dose, effects, etc. I'm always a safe user of psychedelics and always condone safe use.
Plus, how long would my friends be my friends if I gave them some drug and they freak out. Tripped over 300 times, almost all with friends. Never had a single friend have a bad trip with me. Nor have I had a bad or difficult trip.

what do i like? good price, consistently available, good product, professional, good sense of discretion, on time for a deal...
what do i not like? rip off prices, fake product, cats acting like fools, doing paranoid shit during the meet that just looks _more_ sketchy etc.
usually for me, the only things i buy from someone "cold" is bud and dope. bud is my DOC so i'm always looking for more good bud guys to add to my phone book. i usually start out small buying a quarter, than a half, then if they do OK with that they go into my regular rotation at an ounce a month. once we've been doing business for a while, often i'll offhandedly ask if they can get rolls, trips, pharmies, whatever i'm after... but generally i won't buy that stuff until i've known the guy for a while and there's some trust there. dope, different story, the potential to get ripped off is just part of the game... but at least you have some assurance that whatever powder you're buying, if it's not dope, at least it's not some unknown RC that's gonna make you wig out too much.
but really i haven't bought trips from anyone but a mail-order supplier in almost a decade. you just don't see that kind of stuff around here so much on the streets (anymore?) if i were to make an exception it would only really be in the festival environment, from experience, most of that stuff is legit, just try to read the guy as best you can. i feel better if i'm trading drug for drug in these sorts of deals for some reason, rather than giving an unknown guy cash.
