what program angerfist uses?

FL Studio is good to start with, however it can be hard to move on to something more advanced if you choose to later on though.

It's probably the easiest program to use to begin with though, and it's equally as capable as any other program, everything depends on how well you can use it.

you mean hardcore, not techno :D

there's a video of making a hardcore kick in Reason:

ableton would be really good, but more advanced. Logic wouldn't be a bad choice either, but again more advanced. Maybe try Fruity Loops and Reason for a start and go from there.

ok lets not get technical now..i spin records and no all the different types...by tekno i mean everything electronic...

the reason i asked what program angerfist uses is cuz i love the style of editing he does..

but you think reason would be a good start?

I wouldn't say that identifying a genre of electronic dance music as getting technical. Calling hardcore "tekno" or lumping all electronic music as "tekno" is a pet peeve to me. Anyone who listens to a lot of EDM will get confused/irritated if you classify hardcore as techno or vice versa. Just had to say something, it was bothering me ;)

Essentially what you want to do is get familiar with sequencing/beat griding so Fruity or Reason would kinda ease you into doing that while giving you a lot of options, effects, synths, etc. that already have that hardcore built in into the prog. Logic, Pro Tools, etc. are the full studio packages where you get into that big expensive world of Studio Production. Hardcore despite what people think as just being a massive fast kick some bass and a few synth stabs and samples has a very complex produced sound. Its not going to be easy to just make hardcore tracks. But therein lies the challenge.

i didnt say hardcore was techno... it was a two part question...what program does angerfist use? then.... what is a good program to make tekno music? then...gave an example of a song that edits sound clips and manipulates them while mixing it with music... so you guys are wrong...and also like i said im an actual dj...i spin hardcore, hardstyle, hard-trance, and normal trance...so i no the difference between em...

but you have to have a word that can describe all electronic music...and personally techno is the best. if you said electronic you think semi-gay electronica..but when you say techno you think of "bass drum: thump thump thump thump and some keyboards going" how fast it is or how "hard" it is defines what sub-category it is in ex: hardcore, hardstyle, electro, electro-house...but its all techno music

thank you! you pushed me in the right direction...i spin records but i want to start making my own..

there we go..someone who isnt stupid...sooo many kids out there get all technical about shit like "bitch you know what im talking about"...but this has made for a good argument...

I don't even have to say anything.... But... The artist you inquired about is a HARDCORE artist/dj not techno in anyway... Just because you associate techno with bass drum thump thump and electronica or electronic with homosexuals... doesn't mean anyone else does! HAHA! I have never heard anyone call "electronic" music gay. But w/e 8)

If you want some examples of techno artists, I can provide some.

It's not a competition! LOL 8)8)8) :\ 8o

to be fair, angerfist is considered hardcore techno.

Maybe I am wrong, but I would just call that hardcore.... at least the one angerfist track I listened to.... hardcore techno to me is like frankie bones and a hardcore example would be Delta 9.

the best way i can relate this to you is this....
classic rock, hard rock, psychedelic rock..3 different types but its all rock music...

hardcore, trance, psy/goa..its all a form of techno music..some is faster some is harder..but its still a form of techno.. you are right that hardcore and techno are way different..cuz they are.. yet so is led zeppelin and fall out boy but both of em are considered rock.. ones classic-rock and ones shitty-rock..

just like metal music... heavy metal, nu metal, hardcore metal, screamo metal, thrash metal, power metal...all different types but still metal..

of course almost everyone just calls it hardcore. hardcore techno is just the name that includes all the subgenres including gabber, terrocore, speedcore, etc.

not sure why you would call anything else hardcore techno.

danktank, this is not a tomato/tomato issue as you put it. The reason you can't call all edm techno is because edm is the umbrella term for several musical genres. Techno is one of them. This is a great documentary on how techno was born:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvWiZqgdTkU

Hardcore is not techno, and originated in a very different way, sounds different, and the groups of people that like techno and hardcore don't ofter overlap. I am, however, fond of both. This is the same issue as calling psytrance techno, or calling rock'n'roll country music, or calling polka hip-hop. You get the idea.

Not trying to be a dick, but angerfist is pretty bad/mainstream hardcore. Check out artists like Ophidian, Promo or Ruffneck!
