i have 20 10 mg dones and 8 8mg subs..... i want to plan on getting nice and high on them tonight.... but will start tapering tomorrow. but dont know if i should start with the subs and then finish off with the methadone or start with the methadone and finish off taperinbg on the subs?

i would say methadone then sub, but take it easy on the done and dont take the sub too soon. you need to wait 2 or 3 days after your last methadone dose to take sub to avoid precipitated withdrawal.

It's easier to get high on methadone than subs and easier to jump off of subs than methadone.

Unfortunately as kurt cocaine mentioned switching from methadone to subs is a dicey proposition with the very long methadone duration of action and trying to avoid precipitated withdrawals.

I'd say choose option three which is flush the methadone and just use subs from here on out, or option four which is methadone to shorter acting full agonist (eg. codeine, oxy, etc.) to bupe.

Good Luck!

OP, since your question was answered so well by amapola, I'm going to close this thread.

There is a lot of useful information on both buprenorphine/Suboxone in its megathread and methadone in its megathread. :)

Feel free to PM me with any questions...
