what of the children

not my best piece but here it is.

daily i see footage of the tragedy
waves of water that left destruction and death in its wake
over and over again on every channel
that tragic day is replayed
everyday the same sad faces look at me
"help me" they seem to say
feelings of anguish wash over me
i can only do so much, but yet i want to do more
so i did what i could and prayed a bit more
but i still feel helpless especially when i see
people fighting for food, for water just to live
but one story has left me with much disgust
that's the one about children, where they're at risk
of being abducted and then sold as labour.
we are doing what we can to save the survivors,
but what are we doing to save the children?
this feeling of helplessness to help them is
making me want to scream.

but seriously, that was a terrible tragedy... and i question, why would God let this happen?

like you i too wish there was something,.....'more' i could do besides donating money and such.

i just had a discussion with friends about this,,, and my heart has been breaking,,,, wish i could help protect the kids.

Thanks both of you. The issue hasn't been reported for a while now, but it doesn't mean it's not happening still - we can only hope the authorities do try to do something about it.
