What new (or old) game do you love?

Battlefield 3 for PC 64 player madness on a much larger scale than COD with vehicles.

Parasite Eve, most of the resident evil series, Dino crisis. Mainly because they were all made by the same studio/group of people.

Earthworm Jim, chuckie egg, road rash, chakan the forever man, shinobi, the original roller coaster tycoon.

Anyone remember Shadow of the Beast 1? It set the standard for absolutely fucking hard to finish. Also Monkey Island and its sequels were amazing and robbed me of hours in my yoof. Gods on the Amiga ws a good'un too and Lemmings, Speedball 2, Alien Breed.

This is bringing it all back!

Half life, both the original which I still enjoy playing every now and again, and 2 which when it came out was the greatest game ever made by a very long way. Skyrim is good for scale. Can't beat age of empires 2 for strategy, and if I'm feeling lucky I give starcraft 2 a go sometimes- but the standard online on that is unbelievable. Quake 1,2 and Doom 1 and 2 are both classic old FPS. Did anyone play commander keen before? That was my all time favourite game when I was about 9 or something. Raptor was also brilliant

A rather large litany of them, mainly oldschool though. Currently hooked on the Pocket version of Minecraft I have installed on my iPhone. Cant get off the damn thing, spent 4 hours tonight building an 8 story castle and now I'm working on the dungeon. Bliss.

I'll likely edit this and come back with more, but of that litany Grim Fandango and Red Alert: Command & Conquer are right up top. 'Conspiracy' too - the one featuring Donald Sutherland of all folk in the cuts-scenes. Man I was hooked on that game (and point and clicks in general) for actual years. Then theres both the Age of Empires and the Half Life series, that game Populous was a good'un...

Most of the Street Fighter games bar the blatantly awful recents, Mortal Kombat...oh, RIVEN - one of the best games ever made in my opinion. Fuck that I'm going to get a copy of that this week actually. Lets see...

Humm...I'll be back.

Just wanted to pop in here and say I'm really psyched about the new Starcraft 2 version coming out in a few weeks. Looks like it's gonna make failing my exams worth it :D

Got Far Cry 3, quite a bit ago now, and I'm finally close to completing it. I'll be lucky if I even pick up the controller, most weeks, so it usually takes me ages to finish a game. Was sat in front of the 42", with the 5.1 turned up, just fucking immersed in it, the other day. Then I downloaded the new Tomb Raider. What a fucking game. I'm so impressed by it. It's really quite adult, which is obviously a perk. Shame, as my kid really wants to play it... Anyone else loving a game, currently?

I'm the same! I never play games anymore but Far Cry really grabbed me from the off. Had to finish it. Haven't been like that for a game in God knows how many years. Actually got me back into the idea of it a bit. If you say Tomb Raider is good on the back of Far Cry 3 then I'll have to give it a look. Never liked the third person thing though.

Wanted to play Crysis 3 but I can't get it working for the life of me. Looks great though even on my abacus.

Skies of Arcadia is my all-time favourite game. Sega Dreamcast...Classic. Get it on an emulator if you can and play it, it's simply incredible.

Asides from that...Jet Set Radio (JSPete - JetSetPete). There's a HD remake of this around on PC. I'm not sure if it's on consoles but, again...Just get a dreamcast emulator and hook up a controller %)

ICO and Shadow Of The Colossus are also up there for me.

As for recent games...I really like the look of the new SimCity game. Also Far Cry 3, but I suspect I'll not want it by the time I get any money to buy it with.

Who here remembers Raptor?

The original Sim City? :D

Pretty faultless choices. Thought I was the only person who remembered Dune II too =D

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are big faves of mine in particular <3

Am a complete sucker for Civilisation too but not played the more recent ones.

Ha! Dune II cracking stuff. Never played Skies Of Arcadia. I had a Dreamcast as well. Used it to access BL. I have a Dreamcast emulator and a stack of disc images that I ignore. I'll have a look if one of them is it.

One of my all time greatest games was Exhumed on the Sega Saturn. Unlocked Death Tank. Greatest seven player game in history.

That was one of the only games that was much better on the Saturn that the PSX

GTA is pretty sweet. Any metal gear game. Gran Turismo. Resident Evil games. Theres more but i cant be assed thinking of them right now.

Albions choices are excellent!

I was a big fan of the Dreamcast.

Jet Set Radio, Space Channel 5, and I played Quake 3 Arena online on DC before I got the PC version. Oh, and Metropolis Street racer was and amazing racing game....and Shenmue, lol, I found it a bit slow, but something about the flow of the game made it really compelling. Even when you got a job as a fork lift driver.

Later I've enjoyed San Andreas. Eating loads of chicken, going to the gym, going to the bookies, and buying new clothes, was great :)

Previously I'd enjoyed Scramble, Defender.

San Andreas was the tits. I recently downloaded all the radio stations for GTA, GTA VC & GTA SA. Been rocking out to Fever 105.

Best thing about San Andreas was riding about on a BMX with your wee sqad. GROVE STREET NIIIIIIIIIIGGA!!!!

Fade to black

That was a tremendous game. Never completed the fucker though.

Edit - No, just googled it. What was the older one? The 2D side scrolling version?

theme hospital, sim city, old sonic games,

Just bought Far Cry 3 from Cash Converters online for £16. Looks good.

This is why I try & pay little attention to new games coming out. Always end up paying £40 when I could just wait a while & get it for less than half price. Considering getting that new Tomb Raider though, I used to love that game.
