What medication for ADHD is least likely to cause paranoia other than these

Hey guys I am just trying to find out what medications for ADHD are the best for someone with anxiety other than Wellbutrin, Strattera, and Guanfacine? Wellbutrin increased my anxiety, Strattera doesn't work for me at all, and Guanfacine was like taking a sugar pill for me. I know that Strattera and Guanfacine are the only non stimulants for ADHD but I don't mind my anxiety being increased a bit as long as I can get my ADHD under control. If anyone could help I'd be super happy thanks a lot.

Also another question I have by the way is would Wellbutrin be more likely to cause paranoia than most stimulants out there for ADHD?

I wouldda suggested the non-stimulant prescribed medications, specifically guanfacine, as it appears to have the least side-effects (at least from the limitted literature reading I did a while ago). But, if guanfacine doesn't work for you, perhaps the traditional ritalin/adderall might best suit you. If you keep the doses purely therapeutic, then perhaps you will not feel paranoid, but I really don't know in all honesty. Also, have you considered that perhaps the paranoia is not a result of your prescribed drugs but rather a manifesting symptom from the ADHD?

Regarding Wellbutrin, I believe it's prescribed for depression/anxiety symptoms so i'd imagine that it would not cause paranoia. Whether it would actually help your ADHD symptoms is another matter.

I had panic attacks severely. I mean we was goin to the ER few times a week lol. Then I had to buy my benzos.

Anyway, I'm leading up to I'm on Ritalin (sorry guys I can't spell methsomethingorother). Took away my panic once my ADHD was under control (except when I abuse...). Hasn't caused me any paranoia n I get pretty paranoid pretty much all day lol.

Best of luck to u!

Adderall made my anxiety better.
Adderall xr is the cleanest to me because it may make you feel okay and all, but it's drawn out and you never feel a comedown really if you use as prescribed.

Ritalin is harsh...even as an extended release form....it is that effect that makes me want more...it's like cocaine. Way way way more euphoric than adderall.
Adderall is more speedy and less euphoric, and because of that easier to control. Unless of course, you're a retard like me and decide to be dumb every so often and take too much...then regret it. But it's just me, some people have issues with adderall and anxiety.

As for being paranoid: Concerta I hate hate hate. I used it once for a night or two, and at my party, I had like 7 people over drinking and playing cards....three people took some from my stash. Another commented that he didn't want any, when is offered, if he was going to start act like we were acting, if he took it.
Anyways, I was paranoid that everyone was being mean to each other and I also was paranoid that I sounded mean...or sounded stupid when I talked...but I thought they were. Ring rude and hateful to one another, and it was all stuff that my friends usually did, like give one another crap or make jokes at one another. Even I am the. Ingest dick ever. I was really over sensitive and like kept telling people to be nice, or I was defending people when I thought they were being made fun of...
Hahaha I hate Concerta.
The people that took it with me were acting weird too. Like either super quiet or just shy. And by the morning time, me and one of the girls that took it were fighting. I don't know why it's different, because it's just Ritalin, but I hated it. Any girl that takes it, I noticed always cries and gets emotional during the comedown, even though it's not even about the withdrawl...the just get emotional or and start being a bawl-bag...about random shit. Life, some weird thought, past shit they have the vein cared about for ages....anything.

I also, take st johns wart, tyrosine, omega fish oils, theanine after therapeutic dose wears off, and you feel so much better. No anxiety.

Hahaha that's some pretty hilarious stories. Thank you very much for all of the useful info! Definetely good to know not to try Concerta!!! I may give Adderall XR a try. =)

If the "adhd" medications you mentioned above gave you anxiety, than i do not really think their is any other kind of adhd medication that wont cause anxiety.

The medications you mentioned were are much more mild, and less effective at treating adhd, but the medications that actually work create way more anxiety than the ones you mentioned. Some of the common ones including: Adderall, Vyvanse, Ritalin, Concerta, Dexedrine.

So if you get anxiety from the meds you mentioned above, it only gets worse with all the other adhd medication so keep that in mind...

I take Dexedrine (which is much preferred where I live). It's less speedy than Ritalin and Adderal (yada yada) and with a good self-check system the come-downs are easy to ride out. I think the tweaky feeling is a big factor on paranoia.

I take instants and only use them a few days a week. I've found they help alot with my anxiety, largely in part because I can get so much shit done at one time that I'm not constantly flustered by "something that urgently needs to be done."

With a little bit of time, when you get that totally unprovoked anxiety from the Dex, talking yourself down pretty easy. XR is probably more your speed though, more steady.

Likewise, Wellbutrin gave me wicked panic attacks. I couldn't even think about drinking a coffee without crumbling. So reacting badly to some of the "lighter" meds doesn't necessary mean uppers with be too intense.

perhaps the traditional ritalin/adderall might best suit you.

exactly what i would have suggested. i dont know if im add or adhd but im going to talk to my doctor about it, after seeing what meth does for your concentration and energy im hoping ritalin or adderall can do the same thing for me, but not as intense of course.

oh and why skip over the most obvious, why not talk to your doctor about getting klonopin or xanax for the anxiety and paranoia?
