this may not be the correct forum, and if it is not i apologize to the moderators.

I'm just curious. To you, those who both read and write, be it poem, lyric, story, or even journalistic compositions, what is it exactly that can catch your heart, twist it down into your stomach and pull so that nothing less than a basic reaction of choking is left untill composure.

I want your opinions on what word series, what stylistic expressions, an exact line of a piece or poem itself (please do quote them as that is a major part of what i'm looking to examine in this thread) that defines that which does catch you of guard and bring you to attention.

Explain what it is about what you've read and fallen for. Explain where the exact word in a line is the plateu, and how for you personally, this "hits the spot".

I'm just interested in what takes effect on different people, and how different peoples perception of writting is.

Also i'm sorry if this doesn't make sense and is horribley mispelled

i don't think it is any one word or phrase although some pieces definiteley have their climax. For me it is the over-all feel of something the way it leaves me in the end. I like imagery, and raw emotions in writing.

For me, a huge part of enjoying lyrics is how they are presented to me. If I'm just reading them, I will enjoy them, (if thy're good), but if I am hearing it with the emotion of a voice behind it, it becomes so much more.

Clever things really get me going. Eg, from a Cradle of filth song, the term "phallus sea" ("phallacy") and Phallejuleah (not sure on spelling). And no, the writer isn't a fag.
Um, but my point is that I think he's really clever with shit like that and that's what inspires me to write nd what I love about writing.

Oh and one more specific thing I love:
In the song "Gilded Cunt" one of the lines is "dirty little gold digger"

So clever!
