What makes benzos so sought after and enjoyable?

I have done benzos more than 50 times and of all kinds including klonopins, xanax, and ativan. I have no clue why i kept doing them because i have never really realized an effect either when taken alone or in combination other than the other drug combined with it. I guess i took em so much to see if i felt an effect and because most of the time they were free :) but basically the only thing i felt when combined with lots of alcohol was very blurry vision and black outs in which i was reported to by friends the next day as saying random weird shit doing dumb stuff and stumbling everywhere.

I mean to me benzos are just like a date rape drug making me forget the whole night and having blurry vision. Others report massive euphoria and a nice little buzz. To me its worthless.

Can i get your opinions on the class of drug, which your favorite one is and what the main effects you felt were.
 
The main factor is the Anxiety relief they give to people so that they can lead a normal a life as possible.
 
Eh yeah i guess ive noticed that but not enough for me as i like body highs. If i wanted a mellow anxiety free feeling id just smoke a spliff.
 
there's definitely no massive euphoria. I like the anxiety relief, the nice sleepy feeling, the heavy limbs. In high doses i stumble everywhere, fall all over the place and slur my words. I was a pretty big benzo addict for a year or so, I guess i liked them because they made me very social, made me feel like a normal person even though i certainly wasn't acting like one. Every task i absolutely dreaded i could finally enjoy. I think people like them because they are a great escape, no matter how shitty things got i didn't really care.
 
I never considered benzos "fun." They simply help me relax and help me sleep. They're also very addictive and can cause more anxiety in the long run. These days I only take them every now and then.

the main effect is anxiety relief, and the relief of the physical symptoms which accompany the anxiety.
Diazapam is my fav. so far..
THE BENZOS YOU TOOK BECAME A DATE-RAPE DRUG BECAUSE YOU TOOK THEM YOURSELF AND THEN DRINK ALCOHOL ON TOP!!!

NEVER EVER DO THIS. YOU DON'T SEEM TO GET ANYTHING RECREATIONAL(extremely typical) OUT OF THEM..SO NEVER MIX THESE TWO TOGETHER!


if you can find legit anxiety relief w/cannabis...do that..and call it a day with the benzos.

You say you've used them over 50 times.. why do you keep using them if you can't answer your own question?
 
Like robot said I like the escape no matter whats going on I just dont get brought down by it, also when things are fun and vibes are good I can really enjoy myself. I personally like them in low doses once its gets to the point of me blacking out I lose shit and make a fool of myself more times than not.

As I stated, most of the time if not always they were free and always there. But i still ask myself the same question lol.

eh oh well i guess its all personal opinion i guess.
 
I've never gotten any euphoria from benzos, ever. Taking them with an opiate ruins the opiate buzz and just makes me groggy, and taking them when I'm not anxious or stressed just makes me tired and want to sleep. But I can see why someone with a stressful life or lots of anxiety would love them, they're great at relieving that.
 
To the OP, I don't really associate benzos as a drug because to me a drug brings on euphoria. But technically it is a drug.. anyways I use them as tools rather than for a high. Try going on a 3 day speed, meth binge and no more drug or sleep meds on hand to help ease the HORRIBLE comedown. Most people I know that use drugs recreationally typically use amps or meth so, to them benzos are very sought after.

Some people do claim to get legitimate euphoria from them though. Thank God I don't, last thing I need is a benzo addiction, especially since they're so much cheaper and easier to get than opiates are, I'd almost certainly be an addict if they felt good for me.

I agree with this^^^ both because most ppl replying back to the OP actually experience real anxiety issues..
whether it's a daily,chronic problem or a panicky 'come-down'
So to be able to have a day away from legitimate anxiety is probably the most euphoria that an anxiety patient is actually going to feel. To feel like everything's going to be okay, while that may feel amazing, it doesn't make it necessarily recreational.

There are others who just decide one day that it will be fun to get f'd up on some tranquilizers and so then they do, with the majority later wishing that they didn't.

Nobody needs a benzo addiction, so yeah, i guess be thankful they don't make you feel euphoric one way or the other.

What I don't get is why go there, when getting nothing out of it?

poeple like talking about benzos here for some reason.
my fav is valium & ive had xanax, lorazepam, temazepam too. I take 100-200mg yeah that's right. but only 3-4 times a month. when u swallow so many. One of my favorite things to do actually. there are a few seconds where things seem to slow down. I like getting on the ph & talking to people than. I just arnt as worried about things. I dont get memory loss from valium
 
Almost every time I take a benzo I take it with weed. The benzo takes all the negatives away that weed causes plus takes the high to a new level.

I do that alot... though..not every time. Smoking without benzos means I'd end up on my hands n knees scrubbing the floors or something...
and I have much more important things I shouldn't be doing instead ;)
