What Love Leaves Behind

It’s holding me back, I’m fighting
A love that you don’t see
So lonely without you
Why can’t you love me?

It’s so hard to concentrate
You constantly haunt my mind
Dare to look deep inside me
There’s so much love for you to find

Take away this hollowness
This emptiness in my soul
Only you can complete me
Only you can make me whole

I try not to think about you
Find someone else to love
But no one can compare
Not even God above

Cruel and unfair to pressure you
But with hearts honesty is best
Cause just thinking about you
Uncontrollable is the beat in my chest

I know that this must be love
By the pain and jealousy in my soul, mind and heart
Each day I challenge myself to move on
But thoughts of you are with me when I start

Don’t tell me that it’s not true
I do know what I feel
Don’t sense that you must love me
In time, I hope this heart will heal

If you will not love me
I really do understand
If all I can be is your friend
At least I can hold your hand

But if you do feel something
If you change your mind
I will always be waiting
Cause with you, joy is what I’ll find

Relation to the poem of this I understand, in the fact, sometimes you have to take life for what it is and the people we may want more from can only give what they have and no more. great that you are accepting that fact and cherish that friendship, cause though you do not say this, sometimes soul-mates are better as friends and not as lover.
