Opioids What kind of w/dl can I expect? Opana ERs for a month vs 3 months of OP Oxycontin?

Hi everyone, I was put back on pain pills and this time it's 40mg of OP Oxycontin (Purdue) everyday and I've done it for 3 months so far and I'm about to stop.

However, a couple years ago, I was on Opana ER up to 90mg a day for a month and the withdrawal was the worst hell you could possibly imagine.

Are the withdrawals similar? And what are the chances of getting PAWS from 3 months usage?

Chances of PAWS are pretty good. It is going to be intense because 3 months is a fairly long time esp. if you've been dependent before. Can you taper?

I just hear a lot of stories here about people taking these pills for a year or more. Ugh, I'm not looking forward to this. Would now be a good time to get my hands on some Kratom? It's legal in my state but EXPENSIVE and headshops.

40mg's of Oxycontin wont even come close to the horrible withdrawals you would have from taking 90mg's of Oxymorphone a day. that must have fucking sucked.

Kicking oxymorphone is known to really really suck. So I don't imagine the oxy will be as brutal. But, taper anyway and save yourself a lot of pain.

3 months isn't PAWS, it's straight up kicking. However 40mg oxy, ER nonetheless, will seem like a vacation compared to 90mg oxymorph. Extended release versus instant(regular) means less intense withdrawals but slightly longer lasting

40mg ER oxy will probably be 7 or 8 crappy days, followed by maybe a week of not-so-great days. I bet you will probably be able to eat reasonably normally and sleep at least 4-5 hours a night, so again, not that bad

Good thing you took your oxymorph orally back in the day, 90mg IV is just absolute terror and torture, much worse than heroin, I kicked only 50mg IV at one point and it was literally to the point of passing out from pain

Yeah for sure taper down tho, cause it's still gonna suck but it wont be any where near as bad as when you came off of 90mg of Opana per day

OM withdrawals are definitely the SHITTIEST of any opiate withdrawals i have ever had. ...i'm personally not even a huge fan of OM...OC has always been my fave. yet WD is never a forgiving thing to go through..i will absolutely have to go on subs whenever i decide to finally come down....and i need to take a break soon.

but yeah the oxycodone withdrawals are going to suck. bad. they are the second worst WD i have experienced (followed closely by H). get some immodium, some ibuprofen, and be ready to take it easy for 4 or 5 days. you gotz thizzzzz!

ps - if you have access to tramadol, using it for a SHORT TIME (it's addictive, too, so be careful) helps with opiate WD in SOME PEOPLE (never worked for me. i swear tramadol is a placebo. joking but it really seems that way to me)

DXM does take withdrawals away pretty well for me but i have to take about 250mg to keep myself from getting sick and i never ever recommend someone use DXM for opiate withdrawal unless: A.) you are experienced in psychedelics B.) you can handle a shitty bodyload C.) you are not prone to depression on a regular basis. DXM can take you to some pretty dark places.

yup. i always tell people that the most wonderful you feel while high...you are going to feel equally as shitty when you WD. it's simple as that. WD is a deserved punishment. i go thru them somewhat often.

I'm with you on that! I was on here last month because I was having a difficult time making until my next refill. So, I totally get it as far as full blown W/D, haven't had that since 2000 or so though. That was when I was on 400mg of Oxycontin and it was utter HELL. I'm only on 80mg of Opana now but for some odd reason, I'm going to have to make it on 40mg a day for the next 6 days. OUCH! I don't know why I do this to myself! Oh yea, I remember it's because I had my dosage cut in half at the new docs and he's not budging. So, I'm stuck in this mess with you. Hang in there, it shouldn't be too bad for what you're taking.
