What kind of drug is Heroin exactly?

How exactly works it on the motivation system? For me, its the best upper in the world if I don't do too much.

I've read it is simmilar to a SSNRI, is this true? Or what kind of AD / other substances could mimic the effects of Heroin at best?
 
Heroin is the street name for diacetylmorphine, a chemical relative of morphine which is about ~4x more potent. It is an opiate. I really don't recommend getting into heroin, it can be a really tough situtation to get out of. Peace. %)

To answer your question. Heroin is an opiate. That's exactly the kind of drug it is!

I've experienced strong emotional disconnection from this world from baby codeine! Broken relationships and a lowered irritability threshold.

Heroin is a bad drug.......not because of the stigma in movies & what you read in the papers, its because you never know what you're getting in the mix of the powder.


What kind of name would OC's get if one month you got 30mgs of a bottle of OC's from the pharmacy & each pill was like 50mgs of strength & the following month they were 10mgs of strength & then the following month they received a bottle with pills of 40mgs of strength with fentanyl mixed in?

Those pills would get a bad rep.......
 
Like PotatoMan stated, the irratibilty that comes from opiates is not good.

Who wants to be snapping off on others just for the smallest thing.

Opioids are NOT the same thing as downers.

Downers are things like Valium, Xanax, Pentothal, Amobarbital, Temazepam, etc. Opioids do cause CNS depression, but they also stimulate massive Dopamine release, Acetylcholine release, and Glutamate release. Pure downers - only cause CNS depression. Opioids on the other hand, are a mix of being a downer and an upper. However, they do cause more CNS depression than stimulation.

Straight from Wikipedia;


"Contrary to popular misconception, opioids are not depressants in the classical sense. They do produce central nervous system depression, however, they also excite certain areas of the central nervous system. To remain true to the term 'depressant' - opioids cannot be classified as such. For opioid agonists and opium derivatives, these are classified differently. Analgesic or narcotic correctly identifies these drugs. However, they do have depressant actions nonetheless."

So I guess I was right, but I was also wrong. Or was I wrong, but also right. Who knows, only at Bluelight......
