What kind of drug culture attracts you the most?

Definately psychedelic. From my experience most psych people are intelligent, (somewhat) down to earth, and most importantly extremely open-minded.

Only did psychs once i.e shrooms and had an absolute ball, prob the funniest day of my life. Very inexp when it comes to psychs, need someone with exp to point me in the right direction. i could, going on my 1st experience, become a psych person though.

coke/meth-heads = fun

e-tards = losers

pot-heads = boring

trippers = weirdos

dope-fiends = smacked-out

PM me if you want, I could give you some advice?

For some reason opiates interest me, heroin in particular. I'm a bit facinated reading and watching films concerning usage of the drug. However, I've never done it, seen it done, in fact I don't know anyone who has openly used it before.

However, I suppose the MDMA culture is that which I'm best suited. Though I attend raves/ parties usually sober. Rolling is for home.

Oh, and K, I'll follow it anywhere.

Perhaps, I'm just a nomad within the drug culture.

For those of you who said "opiate culture", I have a couple of questions.

First of all, are you American? Secondly, do you mean mainly the people that are/were into that Vicodin and Oxythisandwhatnot stuff you guys get over there?

The only opiate users I've come across in Europe have been heroin junkies that never really had any innocent flirtation with a pill now and then - they just got straight into scoring street junk (and the shit that comes along with such missions).

Those kinds of people are really fucking sketchy. Pity, because I'd love to know some laid back opiate users :(

^People who take RX opiates do so because of personal preference, or because they stigmatise heroin.

I would definately like to be a larger part of the ecstasy culture. I use fairly often and would absolutely love to attend a rave. I would like to meet the people at the raves and hang out with some other people like me. Usually its either me or one other friend rolling with me, many of my friends look down on it.

I would never really wanna be part of the cocaine culture again. Very few positive things came out've that for me: staying up late feeling like total shit, having lots of people owe you money who are never gonna pay you, and having barely any money in the first place. Doesn't sound like much fun does it?

benzo culture - kinda like weed culture but without the stoners, everyone's just relaxing and forgetting shit.

Apologies for hijaking the thread but i'm doing an assignment on drug cultures in films and would be interested in knowing your views on whether the cultures are portrayed accurately? and if they are realistic

eg - human traffic - e culture
trainspotting/requiem for a dream/basketball diaries- heroin culture
blow - cocain culture
traffic, drugstore cowboy, fear and loathing in las vegas etc

if that link doesn't work looks a bit weird just go back, its drug cultures in films thread

Thanks
:)

Can I just say that this thread has provided some of the best responses than any I've seen for a good while. You guys are brilliant:)

Rave culture. I loved being able to walk up to any person of any race/socioeconomic background/psychological temperment and bum a Newport.

E-culture for sure... nothing's better than love :)

occasional weed-smoker culture is second great cause being with people who can get high and laugh for hours at stupid shit is great too.

I was just about to say "you get over it after a couple of years" but i think its safe to assume due to your join-date that you have

Yep... I havn't been to a rave since last New Years. My first few raves were some of the most fun nights of my life though. Not sure why exactly I posted to this thread, I don't do any drugs at all now. I came back on to bluelight to ask one question and I've posted like 3 or 4 responses in the past few days, heh. Message boards are fun.

I love to hang out with oldies (no offence you who are over 45+) who respect the drugs and still can have a normal life. I can sit and listen to them talk about "the good old days" or funny memories for hours.

Pot culture is quite nice too, but i depends.. ive met some really strange people seem to have stopped caring about cleening and shower =/

I would say it mostly depends on the people :)

Exactly. I've found that around here a lot of people that started using heroin did so while still buying into that bullshit stigma. That leaves you with a group of highly self destructive and selfish people who basically chose to become junkies :(

Of course I'm generalizing, but it's very hard to meet casual opiate users here, and of course they generally try to keep it on the down low.
